I honestly find Halloween customers and the Native American team logos of sports teams offensive, but it feels like it will be 50-100 years before people do anything about it. Circumcision is still the norm in America despite there being studies that it's unnecessary and harmful.

tell me about it. my brother was cut, and then when I was born, a doctor told my parents not to cut me. so they didn't. then my brother has a son and his wife wants to cut him just cause it happened to his father. nevermind that since my brother was born, it was proven to be not needed. I'm still pissed off at my sister in law about that. she thanked me for my concern and then said she wanted him to look like his father. that is such a stupid ass logic to pull, and all it does is cause wrong things to continue to happen forever. people will still use that logic 1000 years from now because nobody will break the chain.

Cultural appropriation would be the inverse of that: Getting rid of circumcision despite the fact it is basically part of the American culture.

That said, I think Cultural appropriation is...whatever. If you like something, do it. Don't worry about where you are or the color of your skin. Anybody who tells you otherwise aren't worth listening to.

also, it's the sharing of culture that led to the rise of human civilization. in the early days of humanity, every tribe shared customs with their neighbors. if it wasn't for "cultural appropriation" we would'nt have had the agricultural revolution

I believe this is the main reason why I go to forums like gamefaqs rather than messing with Facebook or Instagram - you can easily defeat any biased you may have and just have conversations with people when you're only seeing text.

Doesnt prevent some from holding grudes against usernames and triagulating with other usernames to harass or force out the username that types out opinions they disagree with like it will somehow make the world a better place (maybe for them, but people who dont care about allowing free expression are pretty self-centered or paranoid and catering to the wishes of the scared and selfish creates hell for everybody else)
