From my googling, I only read that it's bad if you drink WAY too much water at once because that can kill you.

What about drinking a lot of water all the time? Any health experts here? My pee is almost always very clear with just a hint of yellow. Is there an issue that I may be flushing out too much sodium?

To decrease my intake I would have to slowly adapt because right now I get thirsty and I need the water. On the plus side, I wonder if this is helping my figure.

How much are you drinking?

You would need to be having many gallons per day before being in any danger of harming yourself

No idea, never measured. I just know I always have a cup next to me, and my pee is more clear than the recommended color. I definitely doubt I'm at several gallons per day though.

Well I mean yeah

Obviously "too much" of anything is going to be unhealthy

Now "too much" for water is obviously a much higher threshold than "too much", like, cyanide. But "too much" is "too much"

You'd have to drink A LOT of water on a daily basis (more than 3 liters I think) for water to become toxic to you.

I'm far from an expert but I've heard many times that its actually suppose to be clear and being yellow means you're not drinking enough water

So you're probably fine.

Google says the symptoms of sodium deficiency are stuff like cramps, spasms, and dizziness

So as long as you feel fine I wouldnt worry

Yes, if it's yellow it's a sign of dehydration.

3L is like the recommended amount.

You can probably drink about 10 liters without any problem if you want

3L is a pretty crazy amount of water to drink in one day

I bring 1.5L with me to work every day, then probably have another 500ml+ after that with dinner etc

Probably have drunk over 3L quite a few times - if I drink the bottle and still have a couple of hours left I'll fill it a bit more for instance. Really doesn't seem like that much

That's weird

I weigh 200lbs, so I should have 100oz of water a day, which is...2.957L?!

That can't be right, can It?

Lose some weight and you won't have to drink that much

3L of water is nothing. That is a little more than 6 16oz bottles.

I have a 20oz cup at my desk and I fill it up at least 3 (but usually 4-5) times per day. And that's only during the 8 hours I'm at work.

Your body is very good at removing excess water.

The only danger comes in consuming far too much far too quickly so your body actually doesn't know what to do with it. You would know if you were having a bad reaction to it, so you're fine!

In terms of water consumption, at least.

Well, that's dark yellow.

It shouldn't be dark yellow, and it shouldn't be completely clear

A light yellow is ideal

interesting. I weigh a little under 150 lbs and I keep a 17 oz container with me that I refill with water during the day. normally I refill it around 4 times, but sometimes 5. after checking the math this seems to add up, too. I should be refilling my container somewhere between 4 and 5 times per day which is pretty much what I do!

that's closer to 2L than 3L though so this weight dependent formula seems to be easier to achieve rather than just trying to drink 3L for the sake of drinking 3
