Don't feel the need lol. Gacha is a mistake. Stick to real games lol. I wish I could speak of and play FGO far more casually like a mobile game is supposed to be, but NA wants to turn up the event rate to 11 compared to JP to try to force people to whale and it's so shitty.

Meanwhile, I guess a big ol' XC2 tips and tricks list is in order

- Make sure to go for the Art to Art Cancel Driver Affinity. They're the passives that you'll unlock at one point. Art to Art is a huge power boost because you can just literally spend the entire fight spamming art and switching blades and spamming art.

- Don't pull more than 2 rare blades on Rex. He gets a lot of good free blades, and later you won't feel the need to have too many rare blades on him. It's ok if you have a lot of rare blades on him though. I certainly did.

- Save your overdrives for emergencies. Technically only Nia will ever need it if you want her to be a pure healer

- There are like multiple free blades you get through the story and some side quests. Put Beastly Core on the 5th party member (or if you're impatient, Rex), Lucky Core on the 4th party member, Praxis' Core on 5th or Rex, Theory's Core on 4th party member, Vess' Core on Nia. The reason why overdrives are so unnecessary in this game is because all the free blades happen to be the highest tiered blades in the game >.>

- Everything can be cancelled (well except Art-to-Art cancelling which requires that passive). They make your elemental blade attack gauge fill up faster. Meaning how quickly you beat enemies and how you can beat enemies much higher leveled is highly based on how well you constantly cancel. The 3rd auto attack cancel give the biggest bonus for cancelling but sometimes it's just better to do the 1st auto cancel cuz many reasons.

- You can cancel auto with movement. If you see damage and move a little bit, it cancels the rest of the auto animation.

- Mythra is fucking op

- Don't bother farming cores early. Like I said, the game gives you all the blades you'll ever need to beat the game

- The Poppis need manuals to be able to buy all of their mods

- Also... be careful of Ursula's side quest lol. It's infamous for being incredibly stress inducing, but the current version of XC2 actually makes this quest not nearly as bad or time consuming

For whaling Duel Links is easily the best one cuz there's a pretty clear cap as to how much you spend, and you only really reach the cap if you're unlucky with the UR/SRs. For F2P tho lul Duel Links don't give away nearly as much as they should, and limiting the pull amount for that good box was straight up garbaj decision from Komoney

I think F2P, the winner easily goes to Puzzles and Dragons cuz of how easy it is to be an F2P as long as you get creative and don't greed for 10+ viable teams

I keep hearing about "Cancel" but I never understand what it means. Like, are we talking during the middle of an auto attack, using an art to raise the special meter? Like the third auto attack "Cancel" by using an art to get the biggest boost? I've only been using Tora cause Poppi, so I don't know anything about switching blades, cause Poppi. Not too far in the game. I don't understand the summon mechanic with the cores, like I've just used them randomly and selected one random crystal to go along with them (or whatever they are called) on either Rex and Nia and they always give some scrub tier 1 or 2 blade, so I wonder if it's even worth summoning (which feels like fucking gacha lol).

What's the best stuff to equip on Poppi? Tiger Tiger makes me want to punch a cat.

As soon as you feel the attack hit, press the arte button. A circle appears letting you know you cancelled the auto attack

Cancel happens when the damage for that attack has finished, and you have before the animation completes and some few milliseconds after the damage is done to cancel it into another attack or action (movement attack cancelling has no bonus). So like if you did an auto attack, rather than waiting for the auto attack to finish, use an Arte, switch blade, literally do anything, and you see a faint circle indicating that an animation was cancelled. On top of cancelling the animation, it make the right arte gauge (the one with the roman numerals) fill up faster.

Poppi alpha wants block rate and aggro gain with a good heal based or affinity based lvl 1 special. If you don't fully get what that is, it's Poppi's I II III slot. Those enhance your lvl 1~3 specials. For the later forms, this is spoilers: Poppi QT can be flex to fit whatever role you need her to be. Her main role is to use her dodge move to dodge big enemy attacks. She has a quick blade switch cd passive to help her do this, and you can give her passives to make the blade switch cd even faster. QTpi is an endgame blade and is probably the 2nd best blade in the game. She's immensely strong and she's also somehow super tanky. She outdamage almost every blade that isn't purely built for attack, but she also does like a billion things more than that than the other more damage focused blade.

The thing is though... if you resorted to using Poppi cuz you don't get how blade switch works, the game rewards you for experimenting and knowing the ins and outs of the game. If you don't experiment and try all the mechanics, you'll run into a wall. I've heard a lot of horror stories of people who don't know how to progress cuz they don't get the step 1 of the mechanic. Lots of headaches of people trying to explain the battle mechanics inside out. Blade switching is brainless though. All you need to know is, it also cancels attacks, and it refreshes your driver art entirely, meaning there's very few reason not to switch to a new blade constantly, unless you're using the op ass Mythra, who far as I can tell don't even need the other two blades XP

For rare blades, you don't need to roll much lol. They give away enough free blades to completely outfit 3 of your party members to a post-game viable setup. If you haven't rolled a rare blade yet, the rate of rolling a rare one is like insanely high

Ill just say this, games like FE Heroes, Fate/grand order, etc, are free, so feel free to try them and see how they size up to your expectation as to what the "gameplay" is in those game, you're not obligated to spend money on them, but i guess once you gauge the paywall and how ok you are with it, you could easily stick to the game or not.

Personally, tried granblue fantasy and fgo, granblue was a chore to start and the story wasn't interesting, but fgo has kept me properly entertained so far for the month i've been playing it and i don't feel the need to spend any money on it, or would i ever considering how fucking expensive it is.

I'd play FE Heroes but it doesn't run on nox, feels bad.

Not terribly fast. They usually give out 1-2 orbs a day, depending on if they have a daily orb event going on. Other than that, you can get 1 orb for logging in on Sundays, and an orb for the first time you complete a map. So it can get slow.

Psh, this is nothing. It took me a very, very long time pulling nothing but blues trying to get Peri. That was horrible. I was so happy when I finally got her.
