Though it would be the most Vince thing ever if he managed to bury the match concept first time out, the entire division across 2 shows, AND both Titles all at once. I realized after like 20 entrants that I had nothing but good will towards the people involved and just wanted a good match and for them to not fuck up, and that was a nice feeling. For the most part, they delivered. Great work. Then the Bellas came out and that was when the genius of the booking really took over. - they really played on the smark fears of nepotism in WWE. The idea of one of the Bellas winning this when they are not particularly talented as performers in any way (and way, way behind people like Asuka, Sasha, Charlotte, etc) was genuinely terrifying. And that led to some actual, real tension at the end, from me anyway. Partly because I wanted Asuka to win anyway but also partly because I didn't want WWE to ruin a really good match by being WWE. So yeah well-booked match, good amount of nostalgia - and almost all the retirees looked great, guess that's the benefit of the women retiring relatively early - and an excellent, tense finish because WWE understood its audience for once. --- Not to be confused with XIII_Stones. <cite>XIII_rocks posted [p:895010659] in All-Purpos... So many awful conventions that had begun to surface in the past few years were not present-- the commentators weren't repeatedly beaming about FACTS, and there was more action in the ring than just the two focal players most of the time. Most of the gimmick spots were good too. Women's Rumble was honestly better than most of the Rumbles of the past 10 years too. 1/3 the field needing to be mystery entrants helped. Most of the women looking about as competent as they did in the day was nice too-- not that this is a ringing endorsement for most of them. Shame Molly Holly injured herself on the Molly Go Round though (at least, I think she did-- she landed weird and then rolled out of the ring forever) she was one of the ones I was most excited to see. --- No problem!
