just curious, does everyone see what I see, which is that your list is filled with obviously the best of the best games ever made, whereas everyone else's is more like a random list of games with nothing in common?

(not trying to say that my list is better I just wonder if everyone sees it that way; I guess it must be the case)

idk, could be one element from each goes into their idea of the perfect game. In my case, my first list highlights games with high customization and a good amount of content which do certain things right but may have fallen down in other areas.

Skyrim had a great open world and plenty of places to explore, but its storylines were often lacking and the customization could have used fine-tuning. And the combat could be too vanilla at times.

SR4 (as well as 2 and 3) had *great* storylines and companion characters, as well as strong customization -- all of which also worked well in an open world setting. The superpower system in 4 built on that and, tbh, had a cooler feel for powers than something like Infamous.

Shadow of the Colossus embodied scenery porn and had great boss fights against really cool opponents. Most games where you fight giant opponents never feel like they really capture anything. GoW had a *lot* of giant fights where you'd spam small damage at a monster's feet or side to get them to expose a more vulnerable area for a critical attack.

KIU had an incredible weapon-customization system and great multiplayer.
