Yea craps is the second best game next to blackjack in terms of winning odds

Plenty of tutorials will explain how it works and some of the social etiquette surrounding the game (since in most cases you have several folks playing off the same table)

Can probably try one of the simulator games online or with a mobile app to get a feel for it

They have similar places in the Caesar's Palace and the Mandalay Bay if those are closer to where you're staying. Monte Carlo is pretty much a shit hole now. The restaurant is most likely good though.

I'm still gauging the whole "distance" of things -- I'd probably okay walking a mile or so on a given night, but I'm with two ladies who might have heels and probably won't want to walk too far.

kinda hesitant because i feel like the flamingo is going to be shitty
should we switch hotels? is the flamingo kinda shitty?

You're definitely gonna need to uber if you want a good experience. Most of the food on the strip isn't anything to write home about unless you are spending an insane amount of money. Jose Andres has a restaurant at SLS and it's probably the only place I'd be willing to spend top dollar at on the strip frequently. The Cosmo has some good food though, they have a chef's table restaurant that's really fantastic but you'd have to make reservations now.

Cosmo also has a secret pizza place on their second floor that's the best pizza in town. Fuck, just check out the Cosmo it's the best casino on the strip. Really great architecture.

This too. Check out Beauty Bar, The Griffin, Goldspike (if you're with a group that likes to play bar games), Commonwealth (if you like hip hop). Carson @ 3rd is a bar right behind Fremont that will make you a custom drink based on the description of your tastes. Pretty cool experience and definitely worth the trip.

And Oddfellows is a great bar too. It has a illuminati/satanic theme, cheap drinks, lots of girls too. They have themed nights (Latin, emo, etc.) Its an awesome bar too.

Also recommend a place called Therapy which is right near Fremont if you are looking for a decent gastropub and some food. I remember it was a little pricey (was on company card with a group so fuck it) but the burgers there were pretty awesome.

Remember:

- All electronic machines for the most part are pre-determined. Those "bonus rounds" for slot machines. It doesn't matter what you door or tornado you pick, the machine decided what you should get at the start.

- Remember casino chips are just like Battlefront 2 credits, or whatever they used as alternative currency for loot boxes. ;)

- The less time you spend gambling, the better (with some exceptions). I am a fan of Cirque De Sole myself, and a big fan of Penn & Teller.

That's where I stayed my first time (2016) and the hotel is indeed shitty. Like, not cockroach shitty but shitty none the less. However it's the cheapest room you can get on the strip and is at a wonderful location. If you're doing Vegas right you won't be spending too much time in the room anyway.

Nice, that's one of my favorite casinos. Most because of the scantily clad women after 9 or 10 at night, whenever they roll out the lady train. Make sure to be there to witness the lady train too, it's a site to behold when they roll 'em out.

I was suggested Gordon Ramsey Burger which looks like it's in the same building as Planet Hollywood, so we'll probably do that. As for the rest, I think we actually will have a car because they're driving in from California, so we can likely use that during the day and just uber at night.

I don't think I've ever played a slot/electric game in my life. I don't play anything that is 100% chance. I generally stick to hold'em because I can at least have some semblance of control over how much money I'm losing.

If you're into concerts I'd check out what's at Brooklyn Bowl. It's pretty cool venue that has a dual level bowling alley on one side and a big stage for shows. I've seen The Roots, Elvis Costello, and Run the Jewels there.

Last time I was there I discovered this little dive bar next to a dispensary called Double Down Saloon just off the strip that did punk rock shows every night if that's your thing

Also if you like karaoke go to Dinos right behind Fremont. It's a dive bar with crazy karaoke performers. Frankie Valli showed up the last time I was there and it was nuts. Be warned though, it's a real dive. Like snorting coke on the table past 2 AM on some nights kinda dive.

Golden Tiki is newer and has a magician almost nightly, and usually has a surf rock band playing nightly too. Frank's Tiki though, their drinks will get you messed up real quick for a fun night.

Realistically, you're not gonna be able to do most of this shit. Pick a top 10 and just wing it. Go have fun and make sure you don't get involved in any drama.
