Is nobody going to question the fact that the hacker also had access to the victim's email? Obviously that's another sign that the victim has bad security practices.

The hacker did not have access to the victim's email. That's probably why no one has questioned it.

The chat logs were probably emailed to him automatically after the chat ended. That's very common in tech support.

It was essentially two factor failure because the rep probably didn't even bother to check the secret question and then sent the verification code via the origin mail system. It would be like DMing someone already using the account if it was indeed their account. The hacker didn't need access to the email bound to the account from the beginning
