not so long as 1st place is 100% -- the only way to have 0 is not to place anywhere

for 3 contestants...

1st = 3/3 = 100%
2nd = 2/3 = 66%
3rd (aka last) = 1/3 = 33%

This way, getting last place in a smaller field is better than getting last place in a large field

I don't hate Cecil for stats. I hate him for being a boring, cardboard cut-out of a hero protagonist. Much like how I'm not fond of Bartz being a boring, cardboard cut-out of a lovable rogue protagonist.

problem with Cecil is kinda that everything about him happens so immediately - you don't really see much of a struggle in his character in becoming Paladin Cecil to really be worth it, and after that he's so barren.

I would definitely push Kain/Barret/Gilgamesh/Tidus in that, maybe Cecil can get the fifth spot but I don't feel strongly about it

Cecils redemption story is fine for what it is.

FFIVs story isnt about its characters anyway, which is probably why people who like more character heavy RPGs (Pretty much everything VI onward) dont really care too much about it.

I mean FF5 is in my favs and that's the most gameplay centric there is. FF4 feels like a more story-focused game with a bad story/cast.

FF5 is just fun.

i'm fine with them trying out twists, i don't like it when people have information on the game format itself that not everyone has

yeah that's pretty unfair since they can't play around it and conceivably the only time they would know about it is once it's been used against them
