Soccer's main issues could be solved by making it a contact sport. American football is also too slow, but my beef with it is mainly that the rules are intentionally vague so they can manipulate the outcomes. Holding, pass interference, even catching the ball are all called so subjectively and inconsistently that it's obvious that they call the games to get the result they desire. During (semi or quarter) finals nobody goes to work and the streets are empty.
