this is definitely not true

it's perhaps the most true in gaming, maybe because games can take up such a large time, but it exists to the same extent in movies (gotta watch all the oscar noms before the oscars, etc), and to a lesser extent in music and books

yeah, that's what I mean. if there are 5 movies you need to see, that's a week. if it's five games, it could be 3 months. games cost more too.

seems like people are more positive about assassin's creed than they have been since black flag. i'd say the iron is pretty warm.

Yeah, Origins was critically acclaimed, with a lot of the negative criticism being it doesnt really FEEL alike Assassins Creed.

i really want to play dark souls switch but i have two issues

1. the joy con sticks are probably awful for it

2. 30fps

i don't think framerate is THE most important thing but it makes a ton of difference for souls games

i have been watching the overwatch league and enjoying it. this is my first time ever engaging with anything related to esports. i am at peak nerd now for sure.

i wanted to beat hollow knight to round out my list of 2017 games at 30, but my crappy laptop just can't run it as smoothly as i need for the experience to feel good. oh well. will just get it later when it's out on switch.

switch souls sounds sweet... for those who haven't played it? i might get dark souls remastered for ps4 if there's literally nothing else for me to play around that time. 60fps is good. also, i just don't think the experience i have with those games would translate very well on handheld and outside with people around and noise.

i was hoping, and i continue to hope for, demon's souls remastered. i will be there day 1.

dead cells 1.0 is also day 1.

Having played the Dissidia beta last night I can confirm it's REALLY weird seeing this series try to become Gundam VS.

The controls and presentation are still the same but it used to be a handheld 1v1 game, now it's taking some very obvious pages from the Gundam VS games (most obviously 3v3, but also stuff like the team lifebar,) to try to emulate their success on consoles and in arcades.

Bought Super Meat Boy on Switch and was immediately disappointed when I realized I had forgotten about the soundtrack controversy. At least the game is still fun (though playing with the joycon buttons isnt ideal - need to get a controller with a better dpad).

In Breath of the Wild, does beating Ganon lock you out of anything?

Im at 92 Shrines, all memories, 250-ish Koroks, and all four Divine Beasts done and I feel more than ready. Just dont want there to be any missables.

No, once you beat him you just get plopped back outside of Hyrule Castle, just like any other Zelda game.

Under rocks, pinwheels, statues that want offerings, suspicious big rocks to roll, stone patterns on the ground that need completion, nuts in strange places, magnetic balls hooked to chains with holes to go into, ice blocks that need melting, slabs that need stasis-ing, bombable walls, single yellow flowers that start little travel quests, odd energy trails moving in a pattern to catch, spirit balls at high/significant places

Am I missing any?

Lillypad rings in water to jump into, lines of three trees that you have to make their apples match, magnetic cube structures you need to make match.

There's also a couple that you need to have a horse jump over a line of fences for, but I think there's only like two or three of those.

There's also the stone rings in water that you need to throw a rock into as another one. And the tree stump races.

I don't know percentages but anecdotally, it seem like probably close to 1/3 of them are just under rocks and those could be anywhere.

Just did a full circle around the mounted archery range and the southern beach near it, found 6 Koroks ranging in difficulty from pick up a rock to get from this cliff to the top of a heavily guarded enemy camp in a time limit
