Congrats on the Orlandu OSB. I still don't have it but it seems good even compared to a lot of USBs - two elements, higher multiplier than USBs, and 25s of Thunder God mode seems strong. I'll be hoping to get it once the next Tactics event finally roles around.

agree with all of this.

i really hope i can get both Ramza LMR and at least Orlandu OSB if not USB/LMR. Ramza BSB2 would be great, too. and i guess Marche USB would be good but i don't care as much about that.

Don't sleep on Marche's USB, that thing destroys anything not resistant to holy/earth and even then I still bring him to some fights against bosses who do, because that constant quickcast refresh is so damn good. Especially when Assault Saber comes out so he can do multiple hits with having to buff his defense up.

i really don't like Marche, so his USB is one of those things that i'm not aiming for but i'll use it if i happen to get it. like all those Bartz SBs i got for him when they were still relevant (SSB, BSB1, OSB).

6/8 sub'd! Just Fenrir and Bismarck left.

But this is still really, really luck based, since I need double casts and 8-hit chases, and I had to get a Sand Worm magicite to level 99 along with Tifa for her record materia. When the earth quadstrike comes out this should be a lot easier to repeat.

i don't think i'm sub-30ing hydra before the FFV earth banner unless i do really well on the FFT banner. maybe something like Orlandu LMR + Marche USB on the first pull, that'd leave just enough stuff left that i could pull again and then maybe with some crazy luck i can get Ramza LMR + Orlandu USB.

Ultimates mastered, other than the random petrify Scylla hit me with I had no trouble.

Another water weak ultimate, Salamander died fast to Tidus' chain and Bartz's Engulfing Quadstrikes, I swapped Ramza for Onion but I don't think I even needed the crit boost since all I saw were 9999s.

Scylla is the same as we fought last FF3 except weaker and in a Cid Mission. Thanks to Onion Knight's sage mode I didn't even have to heal with Desch, OK, CoD and Arc spamming high damage spells. Arc had Curaga but he never really had to use it nor protect/shell since I used Rikku's USB as a RW so he summoned Madeen (holy boost on his white mage robe) Scylla only has 300000 HP and he'll heal himself for 9999 when low on HP but the turn he spent healing meant he ate another Madeen. Oh and Ignus was there for breakdowns.

Odin is also really easy, I used my Liquid Flame team again and this time OK's Ninja Crit boost did make a difference... in killing him faster. He only uses physical attacks as well but since 4/5 of my team were back row Bartz was the only one who needed healing, Zantetsuken still hit Bartz pretty hard even after the mitigation but a curaga takes of that.

Gogo BSB would be my most wanted relic on the banner behind Yuffie USB for water boost rod and just because it's a funny relic but I can't quite bring myself to draw. 100 gems did not help us and alas too many dupes otherwise-- damn I'm due on the 100s let me tell ya.

this was a fun one in multiplayer. no wall, which is usually a huge red flag, but lightning chain and a stacked lightning party made it not matter (most of its damage is fixed, anyway). my Ashe used dispel, then USB, then chain thundaga for the full 140k and did not get another turn.

Well it's official my fire team is definitely stronger than my water team at the moment. Beat Belias Torment 300 with Sabin Locke Gordon Mustadio Ovelia with ease when Tidus Rydia Gordon Mustadio Ovelia could not manage it.

another sub-30 down, surprisingly it was bismarck. Ramza USB+raider combo to let me take a physical character with Ashe instead of Shantotto, who takes too long to get her BSB out. just used Squall with thundering quadstrike. i went more offensive than usual, double imperil with Fran's SSB + hydra magicite. so it took some luck to be able to do it without Enkidu and with Y'shtola having to SSII with her first bar instead of asylum.

the luck was mostly needed at the start as the only way i could get it to work was to reset until it did a regular physical on its second turn, so Y'shtola could cast shellga turn 1 and then instant stoneskin thanks to Ramza USB. not gonna farm this much anyway, just enough to get four copies of Enki and maybe the other two, but i figured i may as well get those summon orbs while i do it.

ideally, i'd want to be able to sub-30 Shadow Dragon to farm dark orbs but to do that i need to get to phase 2 in a hurry. probably need Kirin and/or Unicorn drops from Mist Dragon, and perhaps Shelke dive to fuel a quick Agrias OSB. if that doesn't work i'll need to wait for FFT and hope for some good luck there.

Do you have Raines BSB? I think the main key to a quick Shadow Dragon is just getting Raines to go to town as quickly as possible. Turn 1 Memento Mori and entrust him, turn 2 BSB, turn 3+ chain Shining Moment.

Did the Cid Mission on d200 Barthandelus, jesus this guy hits insanely hard for a d200. Had to reset a few times to learn the right time to use Enkidu and Vanille's burst. Even with Shellga, Magic and Full Break he still was doing over 4000 with his Ruins

yeah i have Raines BSB and dived, and that exact setup you mentioned with turn 1 MM and entrust was key to sub-30 mist dragon (which i also just did today). though there my entruster was still useful afterward with Seph BSB+OSB combo for 99999, whereas Agrias OSB just on its own won't be nearly as good so idk if that will work.

Lightning is just an absolute monster in a jump start battle against a lightning weak enemy. Finished off Barthandelus in roughly 12 seconds with an assist from Ashe: Ultra Cross Slash, Army of One, Thundering Quadstrike (to finish the second add-on), Focused Bolts, Focused Bolts. The first three actions are at instant speed (thanks to LM2) and the last two are at 3x speed (thanks to Blinding EX mode).

i have basically equal counts in all of them, though i've used more 100 more dex than the others and 100 less spirit. and i'm missing like 800 from torments still; everything from II, IV, VI, XI, XII, and XIII, plus CMs for III and X. and i might have missed a jump start or two.

I think I've collected every one that's been available. But I see part of my problem... unless I'm missing someone these are all the dives I've done:

Edge: Dex/Brave
Shadow: Dex/Brave
Zidane: Dex/Brave
Tidus: Dex/Brave

Ramza: Vit/Brave

Lightning: Dex/Vit

Beatrix: Spirit/Brave

Ashe: Spirit/Wis
Raines: Spirit/Wis
Papalymo: Spirit/Wis
Y'shtola: Spirit/Wis

So I've used:
Bravery - 600
Dexterity - 500
Spirit - 500
Wisdom - 400
Vitality - 200

One of the biggest problems is that support dives generally suck. The other big problem is just that bravery is used for so much more than everything else.

i see your problem. too many thief types and not enough standard strong guy types. Cloud Squall Seph all use dex + vit. also you dived a knight other than Orlandu and Marche. i guess you have her USB? that's probably the only way i could see diving Beatrix.

Beatrix has doublecast Knight. That basically makes her the best Spi+Bra dive, together with Marche. Orlandu will be standard physical dive, btw (Dex+Vit)

I have her BSB and OSB (she doesn't have a USB yet), and she is absolutely worth it. Doublecast Guardbringers are amazing.

still don't think she's worth diving unless you have already decided not to pull for FFT, or she's just that much of a favorite that you'll pull for her USB, too

Beatrix's USB comes out in the next FF9 event that focuses on Freya.

I'm always low/out of bravery motes since so many characters need them, and I need more of them now because I want Onion Knight's dualcast black magic legend materia!

Whoops, realized I left one off - I also dived Paine when I got her USB, she's a regular dex/vit physical. Also I remembered I missed 20 motes from one of the torment CMs.

The main reason I dived Beatrix was because I needed it to get sub-30 on Shadow Dragon. I don't regret it at all though, she has a strong dive and I like her. I have her BSB/OSB/SSB1 and I do plan to do at least one pull on the IX banner that has her USB.

i'm pretty stacked in XIII, but man is dispel sure annoying. i wonder if a full back row party makes half the dispels just do nothing. if so that's probably my best bet, whether i use Tidus or a full mage party.

That is correct. Full front or back row parties can skip half the dispels (and a back row party can skip the first one, more time to set up buffs and such).

I shouldn't have too much trouble with Atlas, I have Ramza's BSB2 so I can just his command 2 to build meter then refresh haste when I get dispelled. I can either break him down with Lion and Vaan or kill him ASAP with a water chain with Tidus and Bartz.

can you pick OK LMR? that seems like the obvious choice since you got both USBs. or if not maybe Ramza (can't remember if you had his or not).

if you can't pick/already have both of those then i really have no idea. maybe save the $30, cause those two and Bartz seem to be on another level than others.

Only up to the Four as One event (where Bartz USB/Princess Faris debuted) so no Tyro/Ramza/OK/Marche, I would have gotten one of those if they were there.

I have no Vivi relics unfortunately, that'd be a good pick though for the native fire boost.

Seems like the most popular LM choices are Bartz, Squall, Tidus, Lightning, Terra and Celes (moreso for the holy boost than the materia)

I don't get why Bartz's is considered top tier, is it just because people S/L a lot until it hits? On average it's just a 20% boost compared with 25% for a doublecast LMR.

I'm pretty sure I'm going for Tidus's. Not sure if I'll do a second pull but if I do it's probably going to be Lightning, but Fujin and Papalymo are tempting too.

Vivi with LMR + LM2 doesn't need a soul break tbqh. if i could get it with mythril i'd have to heavily consider it even though i have nothing for him.

is Edge's instant image/haste/last stand SSB available? that's one of the few SSBs you'd have to consider instead of LMR. though i'm guessing you have it already, everyone good at the game seems to. i did 3 11-pulls for it way back when, but quit after i got 3 copies of Seph SSB and his OSB.

i'm a bit surprised Celes is one of the popular ones. seems like most people have Arc SSB, Braska SSB, or Yuna BSB2 for +holy. i only have Leo's BSB that mages can equip, which has no mag, but i'd want it more to actually use. if this banner stuck around until Celes USB banner, and i got her USB but not her LMR, that's one of the few ways they might be able to get money out of me.
