So, does the current Spider-Man have an established origin?

Because if not, I would totally be down for a reference to that time Spider-Man tried to join the Fantastic Four. >_>

I'm curious as to how this will work.

FF4 is easy enough, you can just make them either not have had powers yet, or been out of the public eye.

X-Men is weird though. Mutants are a fairly large minority group in the marvel universe. You can't just have no mention of them at all then just be like "yea they were here the whole time"

They're probably gonna have a universal reset, either on the MCU side or likely the X-Men side, overwriting things much like DofP.

With Cable involved, this shouldn't be hard. Essentially, the only thing that will change is that the X-Men always existed in the MCU.

Also didn't Hugh Jackman once say that no matter what, if the X-Men were in the MCU one day, he would definitely want to be in it. Wonder if that holds after Logan.

I thought the Fantastic Four's big thing is that they're the most famous heroes on the planet despite their powers the public loves them? I remember people bringing them up when wondering why the X-Men have to be feared and hated by the public compared to them when their powers are more or less the same.

I hope people are perpared for the X-men to be called SJW pandering when newbies get the wrong idea and think all the racism towards them is meant to be seen as liberal pandering to minorities when that was always the X-men right from the beginning they were created in the mist of racial discrimination only replace skin color with super powers. Magento was once compared to Malcolm X on several occasions and something of a hypocrite for being a holocaust survivor who wanted to enact his own genocide.

Actually they could do the oppisite.

The twist is that the current MCU is a Post-M universe and some small amount of X-Men have been working behind the scenes to restore mutants to reality. >_>

throw in a couple scenes at the beginning of the movie showing them reacting to major events in the MCU and you could easily play it off like they've been there since the beginning

I don't think it really needs to be that complicated.

Mutants right now are rare. There are just the odd ones like Logan, Xavier and Magneto. The ones who have been around for a while. It is not public knowledge that some people can be born with superhuman abilities but it has happened a few times.

The Infinity Stones on earth activate the dormant mutant gene in a lot more people. It becomes public knowledge. This leads to Xavier opening up the academy and the X-Men.

Several X-Men (and other mutants) have been Avengers. And I would like to see the inhumans plotlines reconciled with the mutants plotline in a way that isn't Marvel Comics setting themselves on fire because Fox won't sell them back their cash cow, because it's kind of a really cool backstory, and it's even kind of referenced already in Agents of Shield when the show up the investigate the activation of one of their diviners from back when they were creating super soldiers to fight in their war against the Skrull.

I like lore. It grows the universe, gives it wrinkles.

Film

Filmmaker Philip Kaufman had been in discussions with Marvel Studios to develop Namor: Sub-Mariner in 1997,[100] and courted Sam Hamm to write the script in 1999, but the outing never materialized.[101] Saban Entertainment became involved as a producing partner with Marvel, with a script written by Randall Frakes.[102] By 2001 Namor was set up at Universal Pictures,[103] who hired David Self to write a new script the following year. They hoped for filming to begin in 2003 for a mid-2004 release,[104] but development stalled for two years until Chris Columbus entered talks to direct in July 2004[105] and the release date was subsequently moved to 2007.[106] Columbus departed in 2005,[107] and Universal replaced him with Jonathan Mostow in September 2006.[108] In 2012, Marvel CCO Joe Quesada thought Namor's film rights had reverted to Marvel, but in August 2013 it was revealed by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that this was not the case, and the rights remained at Universal Pictures.[109] Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter stated in May 2014 that Marvel now has the rights for Namor.[110][111] On June 3, 2014, Kit confirmed that Marvel, not Universal now has the Namor film rights.[110] On July 18, 2014, Feige told IGN in an interview that the Namor film rights are not with Universal or Legendary Pictures, but he explained there are a number of contracts and deals that need to be sorted out.[112] In June 2016, on the podcast Fat Man on Batman, Quesada again stated that, to his knowledge, Marvel owned the film rights to Namor.[113]
