I don't like how Overwatch gets blamed for loot boxes. The way Blizzard does it in Overwatch is great because you earn loot boxes by playing the game and all the contents from loot boxes are cosmetic only. They do not alter the gameplay at all.

I've been playing Overwatch for about 5 months now and only spent $2 on loot boxes as a way to support Blizzard for updating the game frequently and adding content to the game for free.

Overwatch has pushed out 5 new heroes since the game began. They have new maps, new events, and new modes released constantly. All of this is free with the purchase of the base game, all gameplay content comes with the base game.

The only thing behind lootboxes is cosmetic effects. People shouldn't be criticizing Overwatch they should be praising it.

Overwatch was also $40 at launch. EAFront is a full priced $60 with a free-to-play model.

The key difference being that none of those games are $60. TF2 was once a paid game, but went F2P when they decided the F2P+Microtransaction model made more sense.

Only after they abandoned their original monetization plan that resulted in the core loot mechanics of the game being gutted to promote AH use and thereby make ActiBlizz more money. People saying Diablo 3 sucked are generally saying that because they tried it near launch and were so thoroughly disappointed that they have no interest in giving it another chance, rather than based on trying it more recently.

The only reason the game's any decent now is because people hated the RMAH so much that Blizzard needed to axe it for the game to have any chance of continued success (which is to say, further updates and content releases to sell more copies and entice existing players to buy DLC/expansions, as well as any ability to ever hype a Diablo 4). They made Diablo 3 a bad game with their monetization ideas, and fixed them not out of any sort of good will, but because the bad PR was hurting their bottom line.

I think d3 sucks because I loved d2 pvp, the way the classes had weaknesses and strengths against other classes, chain locking wars, using the map to help you in a duel. All very fun stuff, d3 if you're into grinding monsters for levels and loot I'll admit crushes d2 in that aspect.

I had some success playing pvp with no gear and vendor whites. Its not great but it isn't completely degenerate like full gear is.

HS = Free to play game
Battlefront 2 = 60 FUCKING DOLLARS ON TOP OF WALLET MOLESTATION!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem is I want to pay money for hearthstone, but it's such a bad deal at a dollar for five cards I stopped playing.

If you can't get close to all the content for $60 an expansion every 3 months, then I'm not interested.
