It has been posted and been debunked. The tl;dr is that even with all the star cards it'll get you, it's not an automatic win. Skill and chance play a much larger role in the game, with the pay2win BS being a very distant third as far as determining how well you'll do (to say nothing of your team).

It's hilarious to me how much hate this game is getting without people giving it a chance.

People have been giving it a chance. There was an open beta, review copies, and now EA Access, where people - actual, real people - have been playing it. The gameplay is solid, and people are actually having fun with it. The problem itself is tied specifically into the progression systems, which are designed to grind either your time or your will down. Also, it's EA, who should be getting exactly 0% of any 'benefit of the doubt'.

The price of buying heroes, including Luke, Vader, Leia, Chewie, Palpatine, and campaign protagonist Iden, would be cut by 75%, Dice announced. This should, theoretically, make the heroes much easier to unlock, and make the process less time consuming.

However, it might not be as simple as that. Stevivor has just tweeted confirmation that the final reward for completing the campaign has also been reduced, meaning that while these heroes are now cheaper to buy, youre still going to have to really grind if you want to get them all.

an EA representative has just confirmed with Stevivor that the reward has been reduced to 5,000 Credits as a result of a reduction in in-game character unlock fees.

Originally players were given 20,000 credits for completing the campaign, but this is no longer the case.

It's pretty obvious that you were supposed to purchase Iden with the campaign winnings, it's only natural that they changed it.
Of course they should have realized that after the negative press of them after the last couple of days they might have just cut their losses here since no one will actually care.

TL;DR EA is effectively controlling the message by executing changes relatively soon after an outcry is produced to ensure that the outrage is over old problems. They're paying attention to the outrage and reception to everything on message boards and social media to see how much they can fine tune their adjustments for future games, while also ensuring that any media reporting on this will do their due diligence and report on the changes, without actually going to deep in behind the changes to see if they're actually affecting any change.

I mean, they have dialed back the most egregious stuff that people have complained about, but the progression is still the same. They're still getting the same amount of money, but the players are going to be getting a better sense of progression and reward out of it. Just lipstick on a pig at this point.

I don't disagree with you there, in fact that was what I had assumed would be the case.
Apparently in one of the interviews from when they announced she'd be available for multiplayer they basically said they felt uncomfortable locking multiplayer content behind singleplayer so the next best option was to give you credits equal to her unlock, thus why they lowered it now that they've decreased her cost.

That being said, they should have realized no one would respond well to that after the shitfest that we've all seen.

Haha what a fucking shitshow. At least they had a few hours of "good" press before it came out they lowered rewards to.

you get credits from completing matches and finishing challenges like kill x heroes, get x headshots etc. the values for those are supposedly unchanged. You can only complete 5 "arcade challenges" for credits every 14 hours though, lul.

They reduced the credits you get from completing the campaign by 75% to offset their changes. Also, I'm sure they tweaked the earning rate too.

So they didn't actually make anything easier to unlock
