I've never even played NeiR, but Listening to this now, and your post reminds me, I've heard a lot from Chrono Trigger and it's amazing, but I've never played that either. I chose MM9 simply because it's maybe the closest a game I've played comes to every song being great. Actually, JFG is like that too, and possibly better, but MM9 wins the tiebreaker for being the better game. I have a hard time thinking of contenders for this without realizing it's probably just because I like the game overall. Of course, I think most games have good music, or at least they don't tend to have bad music. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Nier - most of the songs have vocals in a made-up language, but it still sounds good, and although you might wonder what she's singing about, you can also get the gist just by the emotions of each song.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The music is a mix of both catchy and appropriate war/battle music. They have a small time charm with some songs also evolving into grand scale pieces partway through. Even after several save files of 80+ hours, I never got tired of the music, and I think almost every song is really solid. It makes me happy that music for both of these games is available to play in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call ... Copied to Clipboard!

Why are there so many Persona 5 answers above? Of the modern Persona games, that one had a much less memorable soundtrack. 3 and 4 have loads of tracks that'll stay in your head for days, while 5 only has Last Surprise and Beneath the Mask. --- The arcana is the means by which all is revealed.
