Do you buy his story?

19 y/o Blaise Horton from Plaquemine, Louisiana was arrested for supposedly pulling the trigger on a handgun he thought was EMPTY and ended up killing his grandmother and injured the dog whom he lived with!!

He said he was removing a magazine from a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun at 4:30p on Thursday when he accidentally fired a shot that hit the dog first and the bullet then travelled along to hit his 67 y/o grandmother, Kathleen Dupont Fulton who was killed instantly!!

Kathleen was pronounced dead at the scene as police said based on his 911 call and his sister's information, police said it was "accidental"..nevertheless, he was booked on negligent homicide.

The dog survived the gun shot wound and went to a veterinary clinic for surgery

Facebook posts from Balise says he adopted a 6 y/o Grand Pyrenees puppy and that he is an avid HUNTER who wanted to hunt an ELEPHANT in Africa one day...

Do you buy the story that this was an "accident"?.

Even one accidental shooting is a bit much. What kinda gun owner point it at someone assuming it isn't loading and further pull the trigger, once again assuming it isn't loading.

Though was a second bullet found? Assuming the stars aligned in a bad way, could that one bullet pierced the dog and went on to hit the grandmother? There was a story of a freak accident of a father cleaning a gun downstairs, had the gun pointed up when it discharged, went through the ceiling/second floor, and hit his infant daughter.

It's a bit like looking at a taller, fatter version of myself. Based on physicality anyway, not a gun nut and I'd never wear that horrendous shade of green.

And he wants to hunt elephants? I don't think good people want to hunt elephants.

Removing a magazine doesn't require you to pull a trigger. Sounds a load of bollox to me.

My point is he wouldn't need to pull a trigger so a "accidental" shot wouldn't have happened if that's all he was doing.

poor gun safety is a thing. been there done that, learned my lesson and thank god no one got hurt. (I was at least smart enough to have the gun pointed in a "safe" direction. but got a face full of gun powder thanks to my dumbness)

also someone pointed out a hair trigger. to add to that if the gun is cocked it doesn't take much pressure to pull that trigger, now no one who knows what they are doing would just have the gun cocked for no reason, but as pointed out idiots exist. this is part of why I feel gun safety should be taught in schools. or at least mandatory to own one.

One of the first thing any knowledgable gun handler will tell you is to never put your finger on the trigger unless you intend to shoot something. The next lesson is never point at anything you don't want to shoot.

The kid killed his grandma and shot the dog to cover it up as an accident.

Which is exactly why it's "accidental", because he did something he didn't intend to do. Being a dumbass doesn't make him guilt of murder, it makes him guilty of manslaughter.

as I stated earlier idiots exist, i've seen plenty of dumbasses put their finger on the trigger without having the intention of firing. they wanna look "cool" or some shit.

I think this guy should see some punishment either way though. being a idiot and accidentally killing someone with a gun should definitely be punished.
