Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public places?

Shoppers at a Colorado Walmart were startled when a failed businessman opened fire at random and killed 3 people...so they pulled out their OWN HANDGUNS in sudden acts of defense..but police said that only SLOWED the investigation and only made it WORSE!!

Police said when shoppers took out their guns, that only made the suspect tracking process worse because they scanned surveillance tapes to see where the shooting started but they had a tough time figuring out WHO was the active shooter since so many people had their guns out..

The few innocent but armed individuals were eventually weeded out as suspects as it was a several hour long investigation before they finally busted the real shooter.

Victor Avila said "That's when we started noticing that a number of individuals had pulled weapons. At that point, as soon as you see that, that's the one you try to trace through the store, only to maybe find out that's not him and we're back to ground zero again, starting to look again. That's what led to the extended time"

47 y/o Whacko Scott Ostrem was the shooter as she was arrested TEN HOURS after the shooting. It's revealed he's a failed businesman with a huge credit card debt of $58,000 and has a bad rep with neighbors.

A tipster recognized him from footage shown as officers were already at his apartment block when he drove past in his red, 4 door Mitsubishi Mirage as they chased him for a mile before cuffing him.

Neighbors said he was an "evil" man who would walk around with an ego because he had a RIFLE BAG slung over his shoulder.

26 y/o Father of 2, Victor Vasquez, 66 y/o grandfather Carlos Moreno and 52 y/o Pamela Vasquez were kileld.

Scott had apparently worked as a sheet metal fabricator for a roofing company but suddenly walked off on the job at 9am without any explanation. Neighbors said he was a creepy and paranoid man who was obsessed with his firearms. he bounced between jobs after a string of failures in his business ventures

He's been arrested multiple times for a DUI.

Do you think people should be allowed to carry guns in public places??

this makes no sense

all you have to do is go to the camera that can see where the shooting happened and then rewind until it happens.

I guess it's true that if everyone has their guns out, it's not like a game where you get instant friend-or-foe detection, you can't necessarily tell who the bad guy is until he starts trying to kill you.

I don't see that as a reason to ban guns though. you can't really say "we need all civilians to be unarmed and defenseless so that we can tell who the bad guy is".

This. Plus it's possible that the shooting itself might have wound up being a lot worse if others hadn't been armed.

Sorry but police are not the brightest bulbs in the box. There was that one guy who sued because he was told his application was rejected because he was too smart to be a cop...

I know. On a UK police show they said they stop fast or standout cars because they might be stolen while letting plain cars go when that's statistically backwards. Police just like bothering people they don't like.

Nope. Then again I live in the UK and it isn't allowed here so I guess I'm used to it.

Unlikely. If that were the case, the shooter would have been either shot or accosted by one of the armed civilians. Where he wasn't, they didn't make a difference. It's more likely one of them would have shot another armed civilian, thinking they were the shooter.

they're looking at the security cameras though. they've presumably already been at the scene and everything.

Said to know that these people lived so many years, and probably still had quite a few left but were struck down by some crazy guy they've never met.
