Hasn't byu been doing that since it's inception?

On subject, I always find it sad how people are all about free speech, capitalism and the like until someone is doing something they don't agree with.

People don't want freedom, they want affirmations and a big Daddy to tell them what to do with their lives.

Nowhere did I state that I don't think they should have the freedom to do these things, I simply find them ludicrous. I have the right to criticize and mock them.

Unless that comment was directed at the people in support of that class, and granted, such people generally wouldn't support the right to, say, burn a flag, so you're correct.

You do have the right to utilize your freedom of speech and criticize something, but when you're complaining about something you have zero control over and are doing it to get empathy points, that's something else.

Lol. The private college teaching a class about patriotism, guns, and knot-tying has zero bearing over you. Why the hell do you care so much about what others do? Is your life that empty that you have to make fun of other people just to make yourself feel better?

Avoiding the question, I see. Guess we know what your answer is. Yes.

And as for your "witty comeback", my answer is no. Wasn't even trying to make myself feel better. Couldn't even do that if I tried.

If you want a proper answer, it's that I find this whole forced patriotism thing to be irksome, and so naturally when something irks me I post about it on PotD, as many are wont to do.

And also, consider this: at this point you've put more effort into coming into my topic and trying to start shit than I did in the OP. So really, the "witty comeback" holds quite a bit more truth to it than you're letting on.

Also, wow. How pitiful. Try to chin up.

Patriotism is illogical? It is an emotion that can be expressed, but it is certainly not illogical. Logic and emotions are not in conflict unless you have some sort of spectrum disorder.

Is this rifle making? Or marksmanship? Or something else entirely?

I have the mental image of a class busily decorating their rifles. Perhaps choosing competition colors, the way you personalize your kung fu weapons for tournaments.
