It is a practice that is primarily done in America, the Muslim/Jewish world, and a handful of other countries. It is rapidly losing favor in America, as the younger generation does not seem to be getting it done to their kids as often. There is no conclusive evidence that, when properly cared for, a natural penis is any more at risk for disease and infection than a circumcised penis. And the most recent studies show, in regards to penile cancer, that natural penises have like a 1 in 100,000 chance, is likely due to the fact that there is physically more skin there, and that explains the ever-so-slightly higher number of cases. Not due to hygiene. I was not willing to subject my son to that pain, especially considering how unnecessary it is. It is his body, not mine. If he wants it done later in life, I'll pay for the procedure. He will have all of his nerve endings and the heightened sense of pleasure that comes with it. He will be taught how to properly care for it.
