Looking at the way promotions outside of WWE are currently positioned, 2018 appears like it will be their greatest year ever for indie talent haul.

Last year they got the Bullet Club, Nakamura, the Cruiserweight Classic signings, UK signings, Aleister Black amongst others.

This year they got most a bunch of ROH talent Adam Cole, Dijak, Kyle O'Reilly, Bobby Fish, Lio Rush, along with Hojo the 4 Horsewomen, Drew Mac and Chris Hero

2018, looks like they could get all the Lucha Underground guys, so Rey Mysterio, King Cuerno, Ricochet, Fenix, Pentagon Jr, Mundo, if GFW collapses, you can add Lashley, Cage, ECIII.

Then you got a few others on the US indie scene like Janela, Xavier, Keith Lee, Cobb and Riddle.

Oh and from NJPW, Kenny Omega is up for grabs come the new year again and you could in theory also grab KUSHIDA, your pick of the Jrs, War Machine, Elgin and Robinson.


2018 I think could be basically the pinnacle of talent acquisition.

I am so confused by that TNA news.

How the hell did they not realize that it was constantly losing money when Dixie was selling to them? Why would they buy it without having any idea on how to begin making it profitable or at least break even?

But man with all of the insane headaches this has caused them, I don't blame them for wanting out. If it's not Billy Corgan lawsuits, it's the Broken Universe, or it's ADR, or it's Jeff Jarrett. I'm shocked at how clueless they were when they bought this company what exactly they had to consider.

Omega to WWE is going to be the wrestling equivalent of any major Football transfer saga.

If the so called best isn't on the best team, he will be linked to the best team until he either moves, or a new talent comes around to steal the headlines.

Ricochet and half of this year's PWG to WWE seems like a no brainer, they either have nothing left to achieve, or have become highly rated prospects WWE needs to sign before they become expensive.

It's better to sign Kevin Steen and Prince Devitt for below market value, than Nakamura and AJ Styles for a huge amount more.

Just watched ESPN's 30 for 30: This was the XFL. I honestly never knew the full details of why/how it flopped so it was a fun watch. Vince himself participated in it too, it wasn't just all old stock footage of him which is what I was expecting.

I never knew there was an XFL blimp that crashed into a restaurant. XD

Yeah I watched that one, it was pretty fascinating. How they had all these big ideas but then had like no details of how the games would go. And half the investors thought they were getting NFL Blitz but with chairs and tables.

I actually didn't. Not sure why. It does make a lot of sense to assume-- I don't think the marketing really pointed that way though. I never watched a single episode and trust me I would've watched at least one game of Blitz.

But as it turned out, even with NO FAIR CATCHES you still were not allowed to be within arm's length of the kick returner when he caught the ball so immediately kneeling was still usually an option

Plus they marketed the "NO COIN TOSS" gimmick where instead one guy from each team would scramble for the ball at midfield from their own end zones to see who got possession first, which I believe caused an injury in the VERY FIRST GAME that led to watering it down

yeah, they marketed themselves as more extreme/violent than the regular NFL, but then dialed it back extremely and didn't deliver any of that

Why don't they put matches like the Five Way Elimination Match on 205 Live on RAW? Logically, if you put enough of those kind of matches on the show people watch a lot more of, won't it help get the cruiserweights over?

The dumb thing is I've just realized with a free Hulu trial that 205 Live is apparently on Hulu, as is NXT. I can't possibly see either of those being a draw for the network with that in mind.

True story I almost watched Main Event yesterday because I was like "that still exists!?!"

I'll probably watch it at least once before the month is over. Which is likely more views than NXT or 205 Live will get.

Well, at the Raw show I went to, there was an awesome Lince/Metalik vs Kendrick/Gulak match on Main Event! I mean, granted, I wouldn't go out of my way to watch Main Event of all things to see it, but... there's good matches that exist on it from time to time.

I would assume that R-Truth vs Hawkins and Slater & Rhyno vs Gallows & Anderson would not be among them though.
