Have you found an answer for how spells get aimed with a controller yet? I'm quite curious, but last I heard you were just whacking stuff and didn't need to aim.

How is this game on PS4? It's fun on here but I think it might be better on there. Not sure how you play with a controller as opposed to a mouse though

Having played it on both PC and console they actually do a pretty good job of adapting the game. You don't have quite the same fine control as you would with a mouse, but it works pretty well overall.

Plenty of sword skills target a point, have you not used any of them yet?

during the beta, i didn't play much past the first 4-5 locations because character data would get wiped for the full release, and now it's fully out, i still haven't played much of it.

i think i got to the 3rd area after the town. my skills are double slash, and magma ball thing.

You should consider playing through to the end of the story and picking up a good melee skill like Sunder, Ice Crash, or even Blade Flurry when they become available.

Can you trust me just once?
Should not take you too long. Speeds up mid-Act 3.
Make sure you put your main skill on a 4 link as soon as possible so you do more damage.

I'm sure you already made your character, but I put my vote for Wizard or Demon Hunter.

Also, after you play the story mode once, maybe twice, you should get Reaper of Souls to get that Adventure Mode.

Uninstall and play Diablo 2. Hell, there's probably some kickass servers like Eastern Sun still up and running I bet.

So... you've barely touched the game, and haven't even begun to explore the flexibility in character building that's the game's greatest strength? I'm not sure you're really qualified to assess how good of a game it is quite yet.

Unless that several hours is really only for the first time you pick up the game, and subsequently gets streamlined by knowing what you're doing, allowing for hundreds upon hundreds of hours of enjoyable game. A few hours of sluggish start is definitely worthwhile for a thousand hours of full fun.

I'm also a longtime Diablo player (original and II primarily, decent amount into III). I don't really like path of exile. Diablo III has been reworked to let you play for just a short amount and do something productive, or go for longer play sessions. The gameplay is fun.

But I'm also a Hardcore player, I take my time doing things and sometimes die trying.

Path has never been able to hold my interest or feel like anything other than a weird low budget knockoff. They inventory situation is atrocious and feels very outdated unless they've really fixed it.

What, how quickly the inventory fills up? It does very much fall prey to the problem of emphasizing loot quantity over quality, where the vast majority of what drops is utterly useless and you can't hope to ever start to pick it all up if you want to spend your time efficiently (or even entertainingly). You can make or download a loot filter that will hide or emphasize certain loot based on varying criteria, which works around that problem quite nicely, even if it would be nice to have less garbage dropping.

Necromancer is out and I've enjoyed it so far.

witch doctor was a neat concept but i got bored with it and just wanted to play necromancer the whole time.

really had a lot of fun with the wizard though.

path of exile's loot system was an atrocious mess before i discovered loot filters

now i have it set to only basically show me currency and 6links and it's so nice not having any loot clutter on the screen whatsoever

My end game filter is every currency above a Chrome, uniques and 6 sockets because I have a fetish for jewelers.

every endgame build is the exact same, so the skill tree is pretty meaningless.

Diablo has really overhauled its loot system. Proximity autoloot, instant turning of items into crafting materials, special loot events like goblins, and a much larger overall inventory. Also much easier to evaluate upgrades. I just can't go to something that archaic it feels like being back in Diablo II and ew at that looting, especially in a loot focused game
