Goodbye comments section, the most worthwhile thing at The AV Club. I'm pretty devastated since I posted there all the time. There's The AV Club After Dark but that isn't the same.

Just needed somewhere to vent. Maybe someone here will care. I think @JetJaguar and @CherryCokes posted on The AV Club.

I was a semiprolific commenter, yeah. it was one of the few places besides here that I talked about stuff regularly. Pretty bummed about this, though I'm hopeful that they can figure out something - it sounds like Kinja is at least adaptable - but I don't know that that'll happen anytime soon, if at all.

Was blindsided by this. I liked reading some of the comments on the tv reviews for whatever tv show I'm currently watching.

It's been a ritual during my train ride home from work and now I'm not quite sure what to do

So I read that all of the old comments will still be there, but I'm looking at an old review (for Black Mirror) and I see none of the comments. Are the old comments coming back over time?

I used to post occasionally on a place that switched to all facebook comments and ugh that was awful. Now like half the comments are just people tagging other people.

i assume it's money-related

this is a huge bummer. i've never commented on avclub or checked it for a show i was following live, but when i'd catch up on a less popular show - jane the virgin or crazy ex-girlfriend jump to mind - it was great having this community i could follow along with, as if it were brand-new

and yeah, the comments are where it's at - the reviews were usually unspectacular
