That is usually what I see it in. Really though it is just kind of "survival meat" in that you can keep it in the pantry for months on end and it won't go bad. No need for freezing or preserving it.

I have had it. My aunt made it one time. It was okay tasted like cream corn and spam. Spam and eggs were my favorite, but I haven't had Spam in over 30 years so not even sure I'd be okay with the taste now.

Just put some spam on a frying pan, let it get brown, and it's great on its own.

Also, Spam Loco Mocos are the best.

The closest thing I have had to spam was corned beef hash (which is probably nothing like spam). That was exactly my thought when I had it.

Same thing with salt pork (obviously).

Sure.

Spam is like the national food of Hawaii. Also, just because it's highly processed doesn't mean it doesn't have culinary value. If you eat hotdogs and oreos and wouldn't eat Spam because you're above it, I have little respect for you.

I think that Spam tastes fine, but I'm not sure about this "scalloped corn". I like both corn and scalloped potatoes, but I worry that the flavors wouldn't blend well.

By the way, because of this topic I bought and ate some Spam (chorizo flavored, a kind I never ate before); and, as I said above, it still tasted fine. I cooked it; it would probably be gross eaten cold.
