I am going to take my car into the shop to get replacement brake pads, and I am not expecting that I will need to get a ride out of there, but I want to be prepared in case they tell me they need to special order parts of whatever. I just have a few questions:

1. Do I need to make an account?

2. Do I need to place a credit or debit card on my account or can I pay cash?

3. Is there any special protocol/etiquette that I need to know, such as if I am supposed to sit in the front or back seat, or if I can open the car doors myself?

Just to add, you can sit wherever you want. Drivers are more likely to talk if you are up front. Most won't open the door for you, I wouldn't expect that.

It means he's asking questions that anyone living in 2017 should know the answer to. And the fact that asked about a credit card means he probably doesn't have one. Because he lives in the 1700s and he is accustomed to paying with things by doing backbreaking, physical labor or trading chickens

I take uber regularly.

You have to make an account yeah, with the app. There are two of them one for riders and one for drivers.

You can pay with a card or with paypal.

As for front or back seat. Most of the time I enter in the front. The only times that really changes is when I get like a van or something and the back door opens automatically. There have only been a few drivers I've ever had who told me to sit in the back and in like every case I kind of hoped I'd never get those drivers again.

Also in case you're wondering. If you see a driver with a rating lower than like 4.7 (out of 5) you might not have the most enjoyable ride.

You can pay Uber with cash too in Indonesia, but that's because our credit card ownership rate is very, very low.

I've had credit or debit cards for over a decade. I just like having my financial info tied to as few online accounts as possible after the nightmare that was dealing with having such info compromised last year.
