Dubs are poop

Casuals only hear the extremely rare decent dub so they think they're all good but most dubs are like this:

They did a perfect job at slightly tweaking the humor for the American audiences without affecting the story or losing any of the comedy value of the original. Plus all of the voices (especially the main guy Kenji) were spot-on. The show itself is a solid 8/10 for its comedy, but the dubbing itself is perfect 10/10 quality.

Nothing like a tl;dr translator's note to cover half of the screen to explain a joke that's only funny to Japanese people instead of hearing a localized joke you can laugh at without having it explained to you.

idk man, in the first ep when Kobayashi said "hella" it kinda broke the show for me. Had to switch to subs. She reminded me of Vegy for a moment.

Good dubs exists. Alterations can be made without ruining the context or story. English text can be placed over Japanese texts.

Tohru sounds like a Saturday morning cartoon character and Lucoa sounds like her actress just woke up and recorded her lines on her own computer after reading the script once

Kobayashi sounds too young and not grumpy enough

I watch dub exclusively. Most dubs are perfectly serviceable (something like Mushishi is a good example here). Others downright Excellent, even exceeding the sub (Golden Boy, Space Dandy, Dragonball Z and Super).

People like more annoying anime like Steins;Gate and Code Geass and Attack on Titan, and those tend to feature young teens and are implausible, and it lends poorly to dubs.

Agreed. Yes, there are some bad dubs, but there are just as many good or even great dubs.

I'd even argue that some anime were meant to be watched with the English dub just based on the setting and characters in the show. For example, Michiko & Hatchin takes place in a South American country similar to Brazil and has a lot of darker-skinned characters in it, so it would feel really strange to me hearing them all speak Japanese. The majority of the main cast in Black Lagoon aren't Japanese (Revy is a New Yorker for fuck's sake) so hearing them speak Japanese all the time would feel odd too. That's just me personally though, so I don't know if others feel the same.

Plus subs are usually full of headcanon from the translator, look at how much of a mess Fire Emblem Fates was because everyone was convinced the fansubs were the canon translations
