What's the seasoning? I don't think crock pots are great for chops unless it's like shoulder or sirloin chops.

Wowow that curry is great. I put some on brown rice. Couldn't find red curry paste without fish sauce so I used yellow. Used a little more curry paste than suggested to taste.

Not quite 2 weeks yet and it's still going well. Digestion has been top notch since the change.

He's probably also one of those types that complains about how Vegans have to tell everyone and plays Spot The Vegan.

Then he requests you to identify as a Vegan.

Well, I'd say no great loss to you in this one.

"vegans are so in your face and intolerant of meat eaters"

*makes topic about trying a diet without animal products*

*enter dozens of posts about the meat people are going to eat*

"confirm if you're a vegan so I can block you"

Can't say that I'm surprised, but yeah, it's the vegans that are bad...

I usually have at least one meal a day that doesn't have meat. Sometimes two.

And my red meat intake is really low but that's still meat so that doesn't matter much.

My problem with not eating animal products at all is that I live for cheese so I have no desire to give that up. :o even if I had a digestive disease that made it painful to eat I think I still would >_>

I used to be fine having no meat with most meals. The shift to no meat at all has helped me find ways to focus on different foods at the centerpiece, rather than meat. And I don't like cheese that much so not a huge loss for me--though it would be nice to have pizza or something. There are some decent vegan cheeses. Nothing I would call good on its own. But they can be fine melted on things. I had some really good vegan pizza in Portland that was still pretty melty and nice.

Don't get me wrong, meat can be delicious, I just feel that my personal enjoyment doesn't justify participating in something that harms my health and supports industries that I am morally against.

She likes them.

I mean, she married me. She has no taste.

I will grant you that. Hot Pockets, heck no. :p

Picked up some Yves veggie burgers in a few varieties. They're not bad, just a bit pricy. As long as you don't think they're meat they hold up on their own as tasty food.

One nice thing about the alternatives: no gristle or random bone shards. I greatly dislike encountering either. Going to need to learn to make my own meat alternatives. The store bought kinds are expensive (but so is meat).

It's also pretty easy so far to cook balanced meals with no meat alternative in it. Good to have the option and variety.

Now past 2 weeks. I've tried some meat replacers (meh) and think I'll just stick with tofu for the most part. Until I can find good tempeh or seitan somewhere. This is not a great place for eating without meat.

Tonight will be the real test to see how that weird soy chicken reheats in stirfry.

Yesterday I was out walking around in the evening, pretty long after lunch. I kept smelling meat on grills. It made me extra hungry but also smelled really strong in a not quite good way. Ehhhh. Treated myself to a soy burger and it was not bad.

So far I've really liked stir fry type dishes, curries, sandwiches, and some salads. there are a lot of recipes I have pinned to try later. Having a good deal of success with Indian dishes/store items for vegan eats.

Still not really missing meat. Would like to be able to have yogurt, no vegan yogurt in sight in my town.

Almost at 4 weeks now and I've dropped 4KG. I'd like to attribute that to healthy eating but I just haven't been eating all that much. Not eating animal products kind of limits the quick easy to access food.

Really need to figure out my own recipe for veg meatloaf or nonmeat patties.

So I bought these vegan hot dogs to try. They're pretty spot on. They even have the gross hot dog smell in the package. Has to be the closest fake meat thing yet, it's so similar that it's kind of gross. Now I know

aside from meat I love cheese too much to give up animal products and artificial cheese just doesn't cut it. ran into this really gross artificial cheese that tasted like mildly cheese flavored plastic and it wouldn't melt in a oven at 400 degrees. nope.

I don't have a problem with vegans but I get tired of the health argument, have met plenty of people live to their 90s eating meat and I don't want to even live that long. hell had a grandmother that lived to like 96, meat eater, smoker and drinker. off topic it was funny though about a decade before she died doctor told her if she wanted to enjoy whats left of her life she needed to quit drinking and smoking and her reply was "doc i'm over 80 years old, whats left to enjoy?"

Tonight I went out with the folks to a vegan restaurant. They've been one of my favorite places for many years and apparently voted one of the top 10 restaurants in Canada. We had chicken curry, spicy shrimp, and ginger beef. Not pictured are the bean curd drumsticks which were delicious.

The shrimp was so spot on in texture though a bit too doughy
