I first played the game nearly 20 years ago and I had no idea you could charge the special attacks once you get the X-buster upgrade. It might be worth another play through just for that.

Yes; charging the Ice and making yourself a Sled helps with like 4 of the Unlockable pieces and hearts.

Maverick Hunter is actually pretty fun too, even though I can't get used to playing on the vita. But then again I always had to change the dash to be the R button in MMX because I hated it the original way

Yes; charging the Ice and making yourself a Sled helps with like 4 of the Unlockable pieces and hearts.

This was also the first time I noticed that Mega Man's breath becomes visible if you have the flame equipped and you're low on health in Chill Penguin's stage.

X was the first Mega Man that I played. I could not enjoy the older ones after playing the X games. Just to me the X games have the right balanced of everything.

I managed to pre-order one luckily, and MMX is one of the games I'm most looking forward to. I haven't actually played it before to be honest. I've only played the classic and Battle Network series.

That's a pretty popular opinion. It's not a bad game.by any stretch of the imagination, but had too many design problems, like the Boobeam Trap boss and freaking Air Man.

s all fucked up with no real questions answered about what happened to prior cast members nor will it ever get a conclusion or remix that fixes the massive plot holes within it?

Meanwhile Network and Starforce have pretty solid beginnings and endings with the only unresolved plot point is Bass.exe

Well you do get some hints about the end of Classic. Proto Man probably spontaneously died because of an "energy defect," Mega Man got captured by Dr. Wily and reprogrammed to fight his past self to the death, and Bass maaaaaaaybe tried to pick a fight with Zero but there are a lot of questions left open with that one. Light and Wily got old and died, but not before turning themselves into a hologram and a robot (named Isoc), respectively.

Zero is wrapped up pretty neatly, tbh. Everyone dies.

I do that too, but also switch shoot/saber to L1 on PS2 version. I don't give a fuck if that's how it's designed, I just can't deal with dash, jump and shoot all being on face buttons. </3

My interpretation is that Dr. Light created a backup hardlight hologram of himself to continue working following his death. This hologram watches and creates the armor capsules which are then distributed by his robots.

Whereas Dr. Wily converted his memories into a transferable AI that can move from Reploid to Reploid.

In all my playthroughs I never thought to use Kuwanger's weapon on him. I've used it on Launch before, but my usual order is Penguin, Eagle, Mammoth, Chameleon, Mandrill, Armadillo, Octopus, Kuwanger.

Anyways, I consider MX, MX2, and MX4 to be the best of the X series. Played up to 6, and gave up on 7.

That's a pretty cool detail, honestly, where a weapon that isn't even the boss's weakness has a different effect. Kind of like how the fire stage is frozen after you beat the ice stage.

It's too bad Capcom didn't do more cool stuff like that.

Where did you get this from

Various canon sources. Proto Man's femise is pretty much spelled out in his ending to one of the arcade games, as is the vague hint at Bass'. The game also gives us the first sneak peeks at X and Zero, though X's portion is only a few lines of brainstorming and not even a picture or blueprints or whatever.

Mega Man's comes from Mega Man II from the GameBoy, but presumably we were just supposed to psychically know it (maybe the game manual mentioned it?) until Mega Man and Bass came out and gave us this information in one of its CD's. It's kind of an off-the-wall source so a lot of people doubt it, but Rockman & Forte: Challenger from the Future confitms via ingame dialog. The villain from that game may have also been a future Mega Man, but it's kind of unclear and seems to depend on which character you play as.

It was a popular fan theory, and for characters other than Mega Man seems pretty plausible, but CAPCOM evidently made a blog post or some crap a while back that confirmed it was false.

Though unless they're going to confirm what's true, I don't particularly care what the drunk who handles CAPCOM's blog says is false.

Capcom can get fucked. The X / Zero mythos isn't half as good as the Blue Bomber's.

Canonically kill off everybody doesn't change that.

I think that's why it took me so long to figure out what I did. I was really young when I first did it, so I was either dicking around or trying to figure out what the weaknesses were. That was the only time I had ever used the boomerang on him.

My preferred order was:

Penguin
Eagle
Mammoth / Mandrill
Armadillo / Octopus
Kuwanger
Chameleon

I thought Kuwanger was the most difficult while Chameleon was stupidly easy with the boomerang so they always ended up being last two. I can see why I rarely had the boomerang when fighting Mammoth.

Really, health shouldn't be an issue to anyone who is experienced with the game

And anyone who isn't experienced with the game shouldn't be hitting the mini-boss guarding the armor and Stinger so early in the game
