Think about it at an individual store level and not because "omg big corps, lots money's" and then get back to me.

So yeah, minimum wage going up = good thing.

I do believe the federal wage should be higher. But not $20. Also regional minimum wages are a thing. $20 will get you further in some places than others.

The biggest issues companies will face isn't the increased salary, it's the increased volume of sales if minimum wage goes up. Especially a company like McDonalds, they'd get WAY more customers, thus taking care of the increased wage, however, for a short while, the demand will be so high, that they may not have enough resources to control for it all. But after a short while, that will be settled.

But I do believe that a minimum wage will not increase the price of food that much and due to the increase of demand, will create more jobs. A potential downside may be that promotions will not offer enough to take on the extra work, so there may be some issues there, but we'd have to wait and see.

But even if you lose cashiers due to those machines, all that will end up happening is things will be more streamlined and again, demand goes up, and they'll need to hire more people to cook the food.

So yeah, minimum wage going up = good thing.

Fast food is built upon obsessively cutting costs wherever they can. That's how they make profit. If their workers' wages go up, expect quality to go way down.

Money isn't infinite. By definition, there has to be a point where you physically can't increase profits by any more.

I 100% agree. I also think that loyal, well paid employees are more productive and more useful. However, that is not how companies with stockholders operate.

What they should do is have some sort of tax break for companies who pay employees over a certain percentage.

The problem with raising the minimum (especially to 15 an hour) is that you will end up fucking over small businesses.
