Among all of your online accounts and profiles

I'm always forgetting passwords on accounts that I don't use regularly. I really need to come up with a good method of remembering them.

From memory save for the odd site that I haven't used in a while. Sometimes chrome will remember those password for me though where as others I just rest the password.

I quote what I'm responding to as that what the quoting system is for unless I'm just using the same response as another poster. I'm not sure what's weird about that and it's absolutely necessary unlike your bitching about things I do when I didn't even recognise you as a poster around here until recently.

Woah, where the fuck did that come from?

I just thought it was weird as it's just assumed a non-quoted post is in response to the topic title.

Most of my passwords are the same, but it is usually a 100 character string, so kind of hard for people to remember or for sites to crack.

I also use 2-step authentication for anything that stores my credit card or purchases.

I have a Google Sheets file that has a list of all of my username and password hints and which sites they belong to. All of my passwords appear to be random character/symbol/number strings with case sensitivity. All of them are acronyms, and they are formed from phrases I made up that are unique but easy for me to remember.

For example (not one of my passwords):
ihaHRwiw12
I hit a home run when I was 12

The Google Sheets file only contains hints, but they are virtually meaningless to anyone but me. But I have over 40 logins stored on there and it's really convenient because I can access it from both my phone and any PC, so I can always reference it when I need to and whenever I make a new login it's easy to store it right away. It's worked out really well for me so far.

It's a mix of all of the options. I have a ton of accounts and, for some less important ones, I might reuse passwords. In other cases I record them somewhere. A few of my most important ones I really just trust to memory. The real issue is when I have to change a memorized password because then I'm really lost. Yahoo made me change the password of on my backup email addresses that I've had since maybe 1999 or 2000 and trying to get used to the new pass is a pain.

And, of course, there are a lot of passwords I've forgotten. Many of those are things I'll never recover because I can't remember the associated email and, in general, they aren't particularly important.

Most of them are just off memory.
But in case I forget, I have them written down analog style and hidden somewhere in my house.

Because sometimes the odd site won't allow my normal password or style.

Mnemonics. I am a fanatic for the Holy Bible, so I recall the stories within from the Hebrew perspective to arrive at the combination. I have a few dozen owing to the website's request for stricter security, annoyingly, so I had to simplify it than just memorize it after I couldn't figure out which password was needed. It was manageable under a dozen, but I suppose the new method to add even more (above) has been helpful.
