On an unrelated note, had box seats at the Rangers/Islanders game tonight and met Dolph Ziggler. Shook his hand and spoke to him a bit. He's deceptively huge, I definitely did not expect him to be that big. Makes me wonder what someone like Braun or Show really looks like in person.

Last night's Raw broke the record for the lowest audience to watch the show since 1997 on a night when they weren't facing major sports competition or it being a major holiday, with 3.04 million viewers.

The previous record low outside of shows during football season, or going against either the NBA playoffs or the Olympics was 3.07 million viewers for the February 13th show.

What's bad is that leading up to WrestleMania, and before the NBA playoffs, ratings are often at their highest marks of the year. Still, part of this was the state of television, as Raw was second to the O'Reilly Factor on cable which did 3.56 million viewers.

Dancing with the Stars can't be seen as the reason because there was a big third hour drop, and that's after Dancing with the Stars ended. Interestingly, this was an audience that declined throughout the show, as opposed to the late arriving audience which is usually the case this time of year.

In particular, women tuned out heavily in the third hour. The show was built around a Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman main event, promoted for the entire week. Undertaker appeared at the end of the show, but was not advertised. Brock Lesnar was there, but only appeared in a dark segment.

I didn't watch RAW, but I feel like this build up for Wrestlemania has barely been there.

They haven't given us much to be excited about. I'm interested in Owens/Jericho on the Raw side, and that's it. If it was Strowman/Taker, or really anything interesting with Strowman I'd be more invested in that also, but right now I can't get into much on the Raw side.

So I met Big Show and the Great Khali and let's just say Khali was sitting on a medical table and his feet were on the floor. And Big Show was so big he was hunched over so he wouldn't hit his head off the roof.

Not really. Gabe is the feeder territory

Notice all the ROH guys they've hired are people he initially pushed, and since he left, they bring in people from EVOLVE, not post-Gabe ROHers

Didn't watch Raw but I haven't cared about the tag team division since New Day beat everyone 3 times over in chasing the record. Would be surprised if that's changed!

Dalton Castle is a draw for me. More than Jay Lethal is. He's a favorite of most people who haven't seen much RoH that I know too. There's something about the guy.

I feel like Castle is one of those rare guys where you could credibly book him as a world champion despite him having some jokeyness to him.

Would definitely be Santino'd in WWE, but in theory he could be like Chris Jericho's current run I guess-- Jericho right now is for all intents and purposes a joke character but still can credibly win titles. Kinda unfair because he has history behind him but like, two-three years ago he wasn't credible and was just thought to be a past his prime vet that WWE only brings in to lose repeatedly.

Point is I think Castle doesn't quite go over the line of being silly to the point where he can't be credible and if booked that way he absolutely would be a draw.

If you are as talented as castle

Do what aj did. Go to njpw for two years, get over big and then go to wwe for big big money.

Going straight to wwe gives you a decent pay bump, but less guarantees of being booked well.

Kenny is playing it masterfully, he could a gone to wwe for good money, now when he makes the jump, he'll make so much that he's gonna need a push of some sort right out of the gate.

Honestly, if he goes to WWE I expect he will completely change his character like he did going from Ashley Remington to Dalton Castle.

honestly Castle is the only name i could think of!
but i was also assuming Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly were both there with Gabe. seems Adam just misses the cutoff - Gabe was out in 2008, Cole in early 2009. same goes for Kyle. Steen/Owens technically counts i guess, he's 2007. same goes for Black/Rollins.

In modern WWE? I think Owens could have carried him. I think Jericho could have carried him if he didn't hate him. I think AJ can carry anybody.

I don't think Goldberg is actually that bad. People liked watching him do his one match, and his one match was fun to watch. I just don't think he's that good as a result.

DDP vs Goldberg at Havoc 1998 is probably his best match, but you probably have already seen that one.
