Well I'm 17 and I've heard of all of this. Now I'm going to go ask my twin sister and see what she says.

Wait, people only know of the Odd Couple as a show? If you take any basic or introductory theatre course in school you'd probably know of Neil Simon and the Odd Couple is one his most famous plays, it even won a few Tony awards. It later became an extremely successful movie and finally the sitcom cam around in the 70's.

I didn't mention that because I wanted to appeal to what I figured more people would have been familiar with. I'm... kind of dual majoring in acting.

Now you're mentioning things I don't know about. I know the name Neil Simon, but honestly if you used his name in a conversation, I would probably confuse him with Neil Young.

She once got angry at me because her art teacher made a reference to holodecks and none of her friends got it, but she did, and it was only because I'd watched TNG in the same room as her when she was sick.

That's freaking rich. "I felt like such a geek today in school! The teacher said something about a holodeck and nobody knew what it was except for me, thanks to your stupid star whatever show! Everyone looked at me like I was some kind of nerd who watches nerd shows. I thought I was going to die of embarrassment. Don't you EVER show me any more of your dumb geek crap!"

Back to the original topic... if she doesn't know about something, it's your fault !

Cultural knowledge spreads through people, and she's gotta learn it somehow. Shape up, you've been slacking!

Lite-Brite
The Odd Couple
Polly Pocket

Never heard of those and 'March Madness', unless you're referring to the origin of the term 'March Hare'.

I've never heard of The Odd Couple.

Lite-Brite was awesome, but I haven't seen it since I was, like, six, so I wouldn't fault a sixteen-year-old for not knowing about it.

The only one I never knew of until now was The Odd Couple. Keeping the trend alive it here it seems.

I wonder if you could ask her if she has ever heard of Pokemon before. Ask her if she has ever seen the show before but not know who Misty is. I was an unhappy camper that day at school.

Ask her if she knows MySpace.

I know people older than her who haven't had a clue what it is. It's depressing as hell. :(

It was on in the early 70s. Nick at Nite and TV Land showed it a bunch in syndication in the 90s. That's when I watched it.
