Nintendo consoles are where the NA Tales fanbase are. ToG Wii probably would have sold a lot better even if it is missing a lot of the features from ToGf.
At least we won't be having our hopes dropped again.

hey now it outsold the 3DS port of Abyss too. don't think it's THAT much lower than the PS2 Abyss though so uh... ...yeah, they should've gone with the Wii version. i don't understand the logic behind WHY Tales games sell best on not-Sony, but they do.

Tales of Destiny - 68,647 Tales of Destiny 2 (Eternia) - 57,896 Tales of Symphonia - 470,253 Tales of Legendia - 83,343 Tales of Phantasia - 88,235 Tales of the Abyss - 72,192 Tales of the World - 39,809 Tales of Vesperia - 144,354 Tales of Vesperia LE - 6944 Tales of Symphonia 2 - 136,695 Tales of Abyss 3D - 45,101 Tales of Graces F - 63,931
yeah, abyss was limited print run initially and actually sold out. reprint, happened again. impressive really. especially when you realize that the numbers gmun posted aren't all initial numbers, but for most of the older ones, actually their lifetime sales.

I saw a pre-order chart that had Graces f at 105k with 1 week to US launch. 63k LTD just seems really weird since it came out 3 months ago. That would mean about half the people decided not to buy it and effectively kill the series since Tales fans know better than anyone that not buying the games pretty much means a really good chance of never seeing any again.

I'm guessing those pre-order numbers were just wrong. That's a lot of pre-orders for a series that has a ton of trouble even getting to 100k sales.
Tales of Graces f still has time to work it's way closer to the other Tales games. If sales on this level were bad enough to kill the series, we would have stopped getting Tales games a while ago.
It's one thing to be wrong, but to be wrong by such a huge amount is a pretty big error.
I think the original source was vgchartz so I don't think the margin of error is that surprising. vgchartz currently has ToGf at 188,260 in North America. >_>
I don't know what the original source was, but I remember the other games on the chart looking pretty possible. I think I'd at least believe that chart more over somebody on a forum who supposedly has insider info that Namco has never bothered to announce. At least I haven't seen them mention the slightest the bit of info on how Graces f did anywhere anyways.
I like all of the Tales of games i've played aside from Symphonia 2. Aside from the Phantasia GBA port I think I own all of the English ones since the GC/PS2 up to current gen. Not sure where I'd rank Symphonia aside from somewhere from 3rd to 2nd last.
