Yeah it kind of feels like yellows are for giving to alts. They tend to feel like they would have been awesome 5 levels prior and have a lower level requirement than where I'm at.

I enjoy Barbarian, but it's got problems at lower levels. It moves slow and if you play in a group, the ranged guys have most stuff dead before you get to it.

My ping was terrible tonight for the first time, and I died for the first time. Still playing solo only thus far, though I'd probably be willing to join somebody's game if invited.

On that note, I just wrote down all the gamertags in the thread, so expect an invite some time tomorrow. (Or beat me to the punch -- azuarc#1117.) If anyone's interested, I might like to start a new character tomorrow when I get done work. That could be anywhere from 5 to 7 eastern. I'm kinda bummed that my character died needlessly, and though it might not be hardcore, I can't claim I haven't died any longer. Level 25.

Just got through Leoric. That was an awesome fight. <3 this game already.

Thisi s how I play a lot of the time, but if you get a decent lag spike, there's a good chance you'll just die without getting to react. Especially if you run into those ****ing poison trees

Finally beat Belial. Would have went a lot smoother, but lag kept killing me. And just when I thought Demon Hunter couldn't get any better, I get Ball Lightning. What an incredible move, it shredded Belial not to mention the regular enemies.

So I think I found the most ridiculous combination of skills for Wizard. Diamond Skin with rune that reduces AP cost of skills by 7, and Twisters with rune that reduces AP cost to 20, and passive skill that increases AP by 20 and AP regen by 2.

While in your 6 seconds of Diamond Skin, each Twister costs 13 AP and takes about 0.5 seconds to cast, and your AP regens at 12/sec, so you can literally spam Twisters for 10 seconds straight. Even without Diamond Skin active, you can get like 8 Twisters out before running out of AP.

Combine this with a Hydra, Shock Armor, and a familiar, and you can basically have a constant stream of AOE damage covering the entire screen. The only problem is that it's all DOTs, and the Twisters move around randomly so they rarely do as much damage as they could. I still just use Arcane Orb for the massive burst damage.

On the other hand part of me wants to save everything that might be useful on any alt I will sometime make.

It was really cool being able to fight Pudge. his fire almost killed me a few times.

Played for 2+ hours with my friend, both of us as the Barbarian. Finally got to Act 2. Of course Act 2 just had to be another desert.

Edit regarding post #121...I forgot which day it was. I'm working until 5, and then have to do stuff before I could log on, so take my original time claim and push it back.

Yeah, what's up with act 2 being another desert. It's like act 1 is act 1 of D2, act 2 is act 2 of D2 (complete with Arcane Sanctuary, even,) and then we skip ahead to act 5. I'm still in D3's Act 3 so no idea what comes after that, if anything.

Regarding the Penny Arcade comic, do you guys find yourself specifically shredding crossbows, or is that just a euphemism for all the unusable junk you pick up? I know my friends always used to complain about all the arrows they'd pick up in Diablo 2, while I would complain that I would often run out for lack of arrow drops.

Speaking of which, for my Demon Hunter so far, I've been liking either Hungering Shot or Bola Shot, Elemental Arrow (once I got the first rune for it,) total meh on 1 key, Vault (can't live without vault,) Fan of Knives (haven't tried Sentry yet,) and Multishot (of the two I skills I have from that slot.)



Silly observation regarding health globes: The game clearly seems designed for you to get hit and to recover that health, and since potions are on a cooldown, obviously that healing has to come from the globes. (Item-based health regen is rather minimal so far.) But globes are basically only generated when you kill things, so why is it that the fights in which I get over my head and feel like I need it are the ones where none have been generated because nothing's dead yet? (Or it's dead too far away.)

Maintenance at 8AM EST?

Oh goddamn Blizzard it's like they do their damn best to do their maintenance every time I actually can play since I work the rest of the day.

Even if there was a single player mode, why would you play it when the servers were down? You wouldn't be able to transfer any progress back online, so it would be a waste. I would just play another game or do something else.

Given the way I play Diablo, I would probably only ever play the single player offline.

Since it is online, I will be trying to make some effort to play with other people, but playing a game that is potentially soloable with other people is outside of my comfort zone. People in online games, in general, are outside my comfort zone.

I just found this big ass 2hand mace with high damage and int, so now I am a wizard with a 2hand mace. I didn't realize that the attack speed of the weapon is your casting speed. I shoot so slowly, but everything blows up instantly.

My play-style doesn't work at all in multiplayer so I'm kinda sad there's no offline.

Basically I restart some quests many times for the xp and drops, or just leave, come back to respawn monsters and kill them again or get new random events.
