GenesisSaga posted... Incorrect. Unless you mean the character, in which case yes. The movie is mediocre.
The character and the movie. I mean, the movie is not flawless (especially for the weak villain - seriously, Nakoma is more of a villain than Ratcliffe) but it gets way too much flak for the wrong reasons (historical accuracy, language barriers and all that jazz).
On the other hand, I love it when Disney approaches less kid-friendly themes and IMO they did it in a very simple and effective way with Pocahontas, and the unhappy ending is very fitting (btw, NEVER EVER EVER WATCH POCAHONTAS 2, it throws everything out of the window and tries to forcefully shove in some historical accuracy by introducing John Rolfe. Seriously DIsney, might as well have kept in line with the first movie).
It has very high heights for some of the songs too (Colors of the Wind, Just Around the Riverbend, Savages).
Meeko is also one of the most adorable mascots IMO.

65. Everybody wants to be a cat Aristocats Nominated by ???
Not really a genre I usually enjoy but I think this is just a really nice song to relax to, and the reason why it is low because I dont like to relax to songs too much. However the final forty seconds or so really picks up the song a lot and while I think the lyrics to the song are a little weak it just has an all-around amazing sound and vibe to it. It is a great emblematic song for the movie. This song would be a lot higher if more of it was like the end part though, but I guess that cant really be helped.
64. Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah (Song of the South) Nominated by nintendogirl1
There are a lot of things I could discuss about this song that Id rather not. I am unsure of the intentions behind the song at the time but I will take it at face value: a person with a nice voice is singing a light hearted song. The song doesnt try too hard and it is very pleasant to listen to. Not something I could listen to over and over but there arent too many songs like that at any rate. I really like vocals in the song and the arrangement is really nice and focused. By far the best song on this list up to this point.
63. Higitus Figitus Nominated by Sbell
I am such a homer when it comes to stuff related to Merlin. I dont know if I enjoy the song for its merits or because I love Merlin in general so much. Eh, it is my list so I dont care. This song makes me clap along with childlike glee so I think thats enough to overlook some of its flaws. It isnt wonderfully sung or anything and I cant listen to it a lot without starting to become disinterested but it does its job well and the scene is sold very well. I love the movie so much.
62. Brother Bear - On my Way Nominated by Ermine
So I dont particularly like the song but there is one major thing that it has going for it: Phil Collins. I really, really love Phil Collins. The man can do little wrong in my eyes. So while the song doesnt use his full potential or anything his amazing voice ensures that the lyrics are completely slayed. This song would be a lot lower for content but my love of Collins is just really too strong for me to have any bad feelings about the song. He has such an incredible voice and it adds everything to the song. 61. So Close (Enchanted)- Nominated by Raka
I am a fan of sappy songs, so first off let me say from this song on I strongly like all of these songs. Strongly. The fact this song is this low shows how well everyone did at nominating stellar songs. Not only the song though the actors in the scene completely sold this song. Disney is not very well known for their live action success in comparison to their animated films but Enchanted really hits the mark in this scene. But yeah the song itself is incredibly awesome and is just really beautiful. I am unsure how well it could hold up on its own without the scene but I feel swept away with the music as the scene went on, and thats something special.

Now what you're looking for is the reprise. Everybody Wants to be a Cat Reprise is literally just the last 40 seconds of the orginal on loop. The last 40 seconds really is the best part, I agree. <_<
60. You've Got a Friend in Me (Toy Story) Nominated by ???
I really like the message of this song. The power of friendship is something that I love in fictional settings and it holds a special place in my heart in my own life. I love the bonds people forge between each other and so I love what this song is saying. I was kind of shocked when I finished the list and noticed how low this song was. But I double checked everything ahead of it and there are either some great themes to songs up ahead or they are just so amazing to listen to I had to put this one so low. This is the type of song that can be listened to any time and it would never fail to put a smile on my face. One of the best friendship songs ever made.

Says one of the youngest users on this board. When you're older you'll understand that there's not a lot of time on this earth, and that some people would rather not spend their precious time listening to really- really- boring songs.
Very confident Son of Man is going to be top ten now. Possibly regretting not putting in two worlds but I wasn't sure if I wanted to risk two Tarzan songs in case you really hated Tarzan.

Diablo III happened to Chris. I will get around to all of my projects in a flurry of impressive speed and thought, just not until I am done going through Hell mode.

On the one hand I was going to update all of my projects today anyway because I am max level in Diablo now. On the other hand I feel that if I update this vcharon will somehow feel validated-
Oh who am I kidding, as if vcharon ever enters my mind when I make decisions!

59. Bare Necessities (Jungle Book) Nominated by StifledSilence
I loved this song as a child and the theme of the song sticks with me until this day. I tend to like songs that have a good message about life and this song certainly does that very well. I dont think the song hits the mark when it comes to vocals and it tends to repeat its sound a bit too much but overall a really great song to listen to if the mood strikes. The Jungle Book will always hold a special place in my heart because it is one of my last memories of a childhood friend named Alex who moved away. Oh, and the word play of this song is simply amazing for the most part. So many ways to say paw while at the same time not always saying paw, I approve.
58. Candle on the Water (Pete's Dragon) Nominated by nintendogirl1
I think sometimes people misunderstand me as a person, although it isnt hard to see why. I am a very aggressive and high energy person at times so it would be hard to imagine that I would like emotional songs that pull at the heart, while they are actually some of my favorites (hint: this is probably pretty telling.) While I am not a huge fan of the singer (she is great at times, but not always) the song is beautiful and endearing. I dont remember the last time Ive seen this movie, it was in my childhood I know, but I dont recall being too big of a fan of it. This was a good nomination because although it didnt crack too high on my list, I wouldnt have thought of it if I was doing a list of my own. Good job ngirl.
57. Who Better Than Me (Tarzan: The Broadway Musical) Nominated by Nintendogirl1
Hello again Ngirl! I would like to thank you for nominating this song because it is really awesome. I think the reason it isnt higher is because the song just isnt tight enough for me. The reprise would have been at least twenty places higher because it just accomplishes much the same value and doesnt waste my time at places. Also yes, this is epic nitpicking which I did to choose the next 25 or so songs, that was how close it was. The singing in this song is stellar and ranking this has reminded me to listen to the whole musical soundtrack because I love big, powerful voices and this song has those in spades. I just absolutely love listening to this song. 56. Honor To Us All (Mulan) Nominated by Forceful Dragon
Mulan is such an awesome movie, as well as an awesome character. This song would be higher but it annoys me a little bit because of the message. But I can appreciate the effectiveness of the message and the point of it to the song. However when Mulan starts singing it reminds me why I put this where it is at: I absolutely love her voice. It just slays me. Truly a wonderful voice that I could listen to sing all day, I think. The scene itself is pretty awesome as well with Mulan getting plucked and tightened and all of that. I feel kind for the song though, it didnt stand a chance against the other songs on this list from the same movie.
55. Tomorrow is Another Day (The Rescuers) Nominated by darkx
There are some songs that I say I could fall asleep to and mean that in a bad way, in this case I mean it in a good way. This is such a soothing song. Both the voice and the lyrics of this song are amazingly beautiful. I dont even know why I have it so low until I look at what is to come and realize why: I just like the songs above this one better. There is no real nitpick about this song to me it just doesnt resonate with me the way some songs I have minor nitpicks with do. Amazingly well done song and the scene suits it perfectly. Thank you for the nomination, darkx.
Correction: I said the Tarzan song was longer than the reprise, it actually is not, I just found a link that was longer and it felt longer while listening to it regardless of that. Go figure <_<

Not seeing reflections making top 10
I'm feeling better about it tbh. Might not make the top ten, but it's going pretty far obvies.
54. Cruella De Vil (101 Dalmatians) Nominated by Cokes
This song makes me laugh at how Roger is such a complete and utter troll during this entire thing. Like seriously, that is the complete reason this song is this high. I dont think I have laughed as much as any other song on this list, although there might be a couple. The song itself isnt anything at all really because most of it is Cruella being horrible but Rogers complete contempt for her and his random playing instruments upstairs while she visits just is hilariously funny. Not a song to listen to over and over or anything, but it is a great scene and the trolling pleases me.
53. Say the Word (Kim Possible) Nominated by RySenkari
This is the song that was a lot lower that I mentioned I had to reconsider the list because it was a lot better than I originally thought. I have never seen much of Kim Possible but the song is pretty amazing for the type of character she appears to be. Also the excellent music video helped to sell the song pretty well. But truthfully this is just a well arranged song that is a pleasure to listen to, so it isnt hard to see why I decided to move it up a bit. I am not sure what I had against it at first but the song seems like an amazing emblematic theme for the character.
52. Stranger Like Me (Tarzan) Nominated by Ryo8899
So we have a Phil Collins song outside of the top fifty, which really just goes to show how amazingly strong this top fifty ends up being. I absolutely adore Phil Collins but at the same time this song is clearly the weakest of the three nominated from the movie. It just doesnt have quite the same oomph the other two have. Still amazing to listen to though and it is songs like this that remind me that Tarzan is so easy to overrate if you just listen to the songs from the movie because it has one of the best soundtracks in Disneys history.
51. Friend Like Me (Aladdin) Nominated by DoctorBIind
Speaking of amazing soundtracks, hello Aladdin. The Genie is amazingly awesome and this song highlights this pretty well. I dont think enough good guys have amazing theme songs like the Genie does here. Beyond how fun the song is I have said previously themes behind the song are pretty important to me and this song shows the viewer just what Genie is all about, and it is an important musical number for an amazing movie. It does lack a bit in the singing power department but that cant take too much away from what the song is about: fun. Robin Williams is awesome.
