I'm more confident in the theory that Yukon killed Toph and Aang went into the avatar state and killed him. He may have gone into the Avatar state to protect Lin. That would explain where she got those little scars on her face from. The question is, why is Aang trying to contact Korra about Yukon? The Lin + Korra vs. Equalists fight atop the stadium, in particular, was amazing, and underlined the change that had occurred. Amon played events perfectly. He not only revealed the threat early to get Lin's armoured metalbenders out (who're immune to chi blocking, but weak to the lightning gloves/sticks), but he paid off the refs to let the Wolf Bats cheat their way to victory, ensuring both that the Avatar's crew would be defenceless in the water when his crew revealed themselves, and that he could hold them up as representatives of all benders. He's continuing to pick on easy-to-dislike benders first to more easily drum up support. The attack (including explosives) and getaway from above was a nice touch too. The people of Republic City will either be joining his revolution or ing themselves. It might be a while before we get a lighthearted ep like 5 again. Predix: Republic City will be lost to Amon and the revolution at the end of this season, and the second season will focus on battles for the rest of the world (hopefully letting us revisit places Aang & co. went to!). I would say she's my new favorite character, but they're all so awesome it's hard to deem only one my favorite. Animation was great, and there was some nice action to make the blah romance thing more palpable. And then came this week's ep. Easily among the best episodes in either series and probably most other animated series as well. I am struggling to find any real flaws with it. Almost wanna say Korra not airbending to save herself from falling, but it has been established she can't airbend worth crap anyway, so it remained spot on... And the whole lightning vs. metal aspect....just win. As was implied in Welcome to Republic City, she's already mastered the physical aspects of Firebending, Waterbending, and Earthbending, but she's been completely ignoring the spiritual component to it. That's probably the reason why she's never gone into Avatar State despite being in grave danger a couple of times now, and why Aang is trying to contact her. I don't remember how long Aang went without it but I do hope Korra doesn't have to go longer. Having said that, I personally don't believe he's really doing energybending. One of the cooler theories I've heard is that he's in cahoots with Koh and he's stealing a person's spiritual "face", leaving them unable to access their head chakras and bend.
