I think I'm getting the hang of actually doing the killings, but I still have a fear instinct.

Like, a few games a go, I was subbing for a Veigar in mid against Kassadin and ran from him every time he ulted in.

Then I turned around and fought him once and he ran like a little girl.

I think my biggest weakness is that I have a really poor sense of when someone, myself included, is going to die or not.

You should always be aware of whether or not you will win a 1v1.

And from there you start to work on being aware of the cooldowns of everyone in the proximity.

When I'm supporting with Kayle I have to catalogue the heavy hitting spells of everyone in the area and try and keep track of their use. When I do use my ult it needs to be blocking the most damage it possibly can by proper timing of my opponents actions.

Sometimes this means waiting until my ally is at 20% and the garen is about to ult.

Sometimes it means ulting my ally at 100% because Talon/WW are just about to jump and blow everything.

Just had a blast playing despite losing. Final totals? My team: 28/49/36, Theirs: 49/29/74. It's no question who won the game. But damn it was fun. Somehow.

I mean, I laned with a Shyvana who was wayyy too overly aggressive and managed to run into fights we ran away from from out of nowhere. We had a Cho'Gath with the flu who fed the Twitch like crazy, but it somehow became hilarious because he had forgotten to buy Boots, not even L2 Boots but just the normal 350 pair, until at least 30 minutes in when I reminded him (slow Cho'Gath is hilariously slow). And he would always turn around and fight while running which only got him killed faster. We had Graves who died fast but played well and a Vayne who would've kicked ass on a better team. Me? Only one buying Wards, especially Vision Wards for their 30/11/12 Twitch, only one successfully saving teammates from chases (died in about two of five of them though while Shyv and Cho'Gath both have like 3 deaths out of 3 in theirs), and only one really communicating... even though I'm still quite quiet.

And yet, it was a lot of fun. Whenever we got a kill on their Twitch, their Skarner/Volibear/Brand/Yi fell quickly and we destroyed an inhibitor and all six lane turrets before they even got three. Twitch carried them so hard because they couldn't push. They could teamfight (though their Volibear liked to go too far in) and boy could they gank (didn't help that Shyv and Chogath would go off wandering around by themselves throughout the mid and late games XD), but they could not push lanes and we could have won if the Twitch didn't get a Quadra Kill with his ult (almost Penta but Graves stole it).

If it were only one person being an idiot or anyone being an ass in chat or any hope of winning at all after bot lane fed like crazy, it'd have felt terrible, but it was one hell of a fun trainwreck and their Twitch is hilarious in chat. Meirda <3

also soraka wasn't actually nerfed whatsoever, if not buffed.

she doesn't really run out of mana except maybe pre-philo if you get harassed too much

Soraka has more problems than that. Against hyper aggressive comps, at best, she stands around and watches people die if her heals can't save them. At least Taric has some CC to speak of.

The loss of infinite mana was the final nail in the coffin, though. I personally don't think it was that big of a deal as long as you're conservative, but then, I'm not in the same mindset as the people who are supposed to matter when it comes to stuff like this.

All I know is that Riot needs to watch out if they decide to nerf Janna. Things may get ugly.

I just had a group of people give me s*** for encouraging them to counter pick and daring to ask why someone would pick Morde when we had a top and mid already.

Oh, what a game...

I had a solo top complaining that they couldn't handle their role by blaming everyone else. Me especially, since I was jungle and apparently he couldn't handle top at all. He quit, then came back cause he thought we were going to surrender and saw we were actually taking it back without him. So, of course, he claimed all the credit at the end despite the fact that he couldn't handle his role (and admitted to everyone he intentionally left for half the game) and left us to take his exp for him.

Sometimes I hate lol players.

Just had a 63 minute game as Vayne. We were ahead by 5-10 kills all game but every time we pushed to their inhib, we stayed too long and got caught (Blitz grabs!). So at one point we had all 3 of our inhibs down, but I could 6-shot super minions with ~2.0 attack speed, so we defended the nexus without losing any nexus turrets. Eventually we managed to push out and win the game.

I ended the game 20/10/17 with 500 minion kills and 27k gold. SO MUCH MONEY.

I played against the worst Shen ever yesterday. He wasn't just starting out either, he was like lvl 19. He had Heal and Promote as summoner skills, died like 15 times in the 20 mins we played until they surrendered AND he had no boots

I swear some people just refuse to take any tips from other players or guides. Like at all. If you spend a 100+ hours in this game (which you do if you're level 19) and you still don't know which summoner spells to use or the fact that you need boots you are just asking for it.


tl;dr: solo queue still sucks

I played Warwick for the first time since his buffs today.

...He really is disgustingly OP. I don't want to be one of 'those guys', but if I played him exclusively for the rest of the day, I'd probably earn a metric ton of elo. It must be so difficult to lose your lane as him. First game I went 7/1/1, second game went 17/4/2.

I'm Leona, pushing down the bottom lane tower with Vayne. Poppy is sitting under it with little health (But then, it IS Poppy) and the turret is a few hits away from death. Our Malzahar calls MIA on LeBlanc, who Malzahar has been feeding all game. The tower is literally two auto attacks away from being destroyed. Instead of just killing the tower and walking away like a good AD carry, Vayne ults, tumbles and pins Poppy against the wall, while the tower is still alive. SURE ENOUGH, LeBlanc pops out, and blows her up, and the rest of their team follows. Everyone on our side involved dies. Whose fault is it?

Mine.

Because when I ask Vayne why the hell she initiated it's because she "expected [her] support to be able to react." As if I was supposed to predict that she would do the dumbest thing possible in the situation. But then, it's solo queue.

Then when I leave her to her own devices bot and group up with Malzahar mid because it's currently a 3v1 for him, he gives me s*** for taking EXP away from him, and Vayne, who is currently 1/5, tells me I'm not getting anything done.

And of course, Vayne went into "BAW TANK TO INITIATE, SO I GOTTA" mode like so many other bad carries with zero patience.

I'm not saying I was playing as well as I could have, but as far as I'm concerned, a kill lane support is only as good as its carry.

Being able to run boots first on him is my reason.

You get through your jungle faster, and you can gank a lane that did not start with boots pre-6 very easily.

It also makes it possible to no-smite your blue to start, run to enemy red and steal that with Q/W/Smite before their jungler comes accross. Especially if it's a jungler that can not start boots first.


Even when I'm going to be staying in my own jungle I still try and avoid using smite on the blue so I can rush right over to my red and get it. Usually I'll run into my opponent at my red (if they were trying to steal) and it turns into a solid fight for me because they were expecting me (1) to stop at wraiths first and (2) to not have smite available still. So I get my own red and they are dead.

Gragas seemed to fit our team the best. We have a team who wants to stay away. Raka, Lux and Trist all want distance, especially between the team they were showing which was a "get in there and make something happen" team.

And so gragas is the one "jungler" in my arsenal that fits what we needed, which is something to prevent their team from getting a proper fight off.


Unusual? yes, but imo it was an educated decision based on what we saw at that point.

I guess WW is harder for Shaco to counter jungle successfully then other match ups or something. He has a lot of Sustain. I'm not 100% sure on the reason I just remembering hearing Oddone talk about his reasoning for picking jungle warwick over a different jungler. He explained it a little bit but all I remember is the sustain makes it tougher for Shaco to invade compared to Shaco vs. other characters. I don't play WW much but I'm guessing his Q instantly destroys a Shacobox or something while giving him a lot of life.

lol wiki says shaco boxes have 150 hp and 100 mr at all ranks. Not even a rank 5 warwick Q one-shots a shaco box without any AP, so that's probably not the reasoning at all.

I don't play WW but I'd assume he can auto->q it to wreck it at about the same speed of a q. I'd also assume the important thing is the burst healing more than killing the box in two hits.

Also figure if he can get shaco low while counter ganking Shaco (or beating him up while he attempts to counter jungle him) he turns blood scent on and can chase him down even after deceive

Also Shaco is just bad at counter jungling tanky things at full hp in general

It's that he can kill it without it being detrimental to the fight.

Shaco also can't just deceive and run from him when Blood Scent is on.
