I do love the modernism of the Vita, but I also like the game library of the 3DS

Keep in mind I've owned a PsP for the longest time, but have never had/played a DS.

Does either game have an NHL/Hockey game?

It basically comes down to Etrian Odyssey 4 vs. trophies. I'll prolly end up getting both.

3DS sounds like your best bet then because you already said you like the library more and since you never had a DS you can play all those games too. Since DS had one of the greatest gaming libraries ever you'll probably never run out of games to get

I guess I don't really know much about the features of each. Does the 3DS have a hard drive or do the saves go on the cartridges Game Boy style?

3DS saves things to SD cards. It comes with a 2GB card out of the box, which so far has been more than enough for game saves, downloadable games and 3DS demos

I'd kill to able to bust out a few games of NHL on the fly/in a car. Game is so freaking fun.

A 3ds can be gotten for 150 right now from newegg, which is probably tax free unless you live in cali. Everything you need is already there. Vita will run you twice as much. 3ds has a damn fine library, best library a system has had in its first year and it's not even done yet. And as you have never had a ds, it gives you two systems you've never owned in one. One of which is a good candidate for the second best system ever.

Pretty sure the game saves go on the cart. Me and my friends can swap games around and the old files still show up.

Downloadable games are most likely SD card though.

Yeah, I don't recommend early-adopting a Vita. 3DS is a bit dubious too, but if you don't have a DS, hell yes you shold buy a 3DS.

I have absolutely no expectations, have never seen a gameplay video, and am completely putting my faith in B8 and memes. I don't even know what the genre is other than CYOA type stuff. I'm only going to get the first game, and we'll go from there.
