AKA The REVENGEANCE Edition

New Regime:
Having spoken to raytan, he now has quite the lucrative accounting job that is keeping him busy and away from Board 8. Effectively, he's retiring from running SMFFFC - though the contest itself will live on. He expressed interest in three people succeeding him as host - Myself, Drakeryn, or Inviso - so as the unofficial statistician already I volunteered my services. (If either Drak or Vis want to come on as cohost, I have no objections) I am fully aware that I am now fully shouldering the "Host Curse" but CX exists and you can never take that away from me.

Lawyering:
Will still be a thing. It has made itself a part of the contest lore and I have embraced it. However the new edition to the rule will be: If a vote of yours causes a lawerying you will be banned from voting for the next five rounds. That should be incentive enough for people to check their posts.

Re'boot':
As we all know last contest had some 'questionable' revelations and because of this and for one contest only there will be no boots from CXIII. And because of this the CXIV edition will have 90 characters before we drop back down to a more manageable 75 or 80 in CXV.

What qualifies as a "Final Fantasy Character"?:
- The character must appear in a game with 'Final Fantasy' in its title.
- The character must be playable (party member or guest) at some point or an NPC with dialogue.

Simple. This eliminates things like 'generic enemies', while still allowing for things like summons with a plot purpose. FFXIII-2 are a go since it's out in Japan, but since it doesn't come out until early next month elsewhere you could be stabbing in the dark.

Nominations:
Everyone gets eight nominations and two 'bold nominations' that will count as double. That covers new and returning characters. I'm probably taking 10 new and 4 returning characters so act accordingly. You can change at any point, but don't delete your original post. Just post what you are changing from to what you are changing to. Nominations will be open for at least two weeks, closing probably on February 1st.

Rule Discussion:
I will hear any and all discussions on rule changes, and if there is overwhelming argument to switch something up we'll go with it. Things I feel most strongly about however and will need exceptionally good arguments to change: UltraAirForce and crew are still banned. Rallying is still banned. Trading is still not banned.

This is like the one contest left on the board that I care about, so hopefully the transition will run smoothly and this thing continues to provide some of the best entertainment on the board. Fun Facts, crazy runs, all that jazz. Also I don't have a sister so we're good on that front too.

Returners could include those eliminated last round and then if they make it thru the tournament their return is legitimate. Having them all return isn't all together right tho I can see the case for it, but then could you also argue That should those in the second to last contest or third to last return too (assuming they haven't already).

I think the process of replacing booted characters should be as streamlined and quickly done as possible. The characters got booted; they proved - in a contest environment -, that they couldn't roll with the big boys. A simple nomination process is more than sufficient I think.
