Cause uh HGR's Lux goes like 16/0/20. I'm a lot less good with her and I can usually put up something like 12/3/8 going pure glass cannon. I'm not one to harp on scores too much but the key to look at there is the deaths. Keeping from dying is not the issue with Lux. If it is you need to learn to use your skills better and position yourself better. She's got godly range and a snare, slow, and a shield so spending significant resources on durability is usually wasted income most of the time. Among Luxes that know how to play, it usually either goes "Lux finishes the fight with near full hp" or "Lux gets dunked because she was out of position and would've been dunked easily unless she did something stupid like build full tank"
The issue with Lux is upping your damage enough to remain relevant in team fights. Almost every losing game I've seen with a Lux that was partially to blame was not because the Lux died too much-- it's because her damage just wasn't high enough.

DOUBLE EDIT: 3/0/14, I spent the first half of the match stalling a Black Mage and dodging ganks. Deathcap is beautiful. And Teleport>Singularity>Master Spark Double Kill is glorious.
Concerning runes - I'd very very highly suggest that you don't spend your IP on anything until you get to the level when you can purchase Tier 3 runes.
I only spent IP on Lux my entire first 20 levels, and I had well over 10000 IP, enough to buy two full sets of tier 3 rune pages.

Yeah, I honestly regret buying Lux when I was a low level, because I am no good with her and it was just wasted IP. Buying Nidalee, on the other hand, is something I will never regret.

So, Lux Summoner Spells. Teleport is just too useful as a utility spell or for hotdropping a fight, but I'm not sure about the other. Currently it's Clarity to help with early mana, but I think I might swap it for Clairovoyance to better set up FFs and to avoid being surrounded by a sneaky player.

I think you should upgrade to Randuin's Omen instead of Shurelya's Reverie.
The active on SR can't give you an advantage you don't already have. It can help you chase someone, if you've won a fight, or help you run, if you've lost a fight. Either way, the outcome wasn't because of SR. RO reduces enemy movement and attack speed, so you achieve the same movement gains, but also defend your team better. RO has better defensive stats as well.
So, why do I see all these supports building Shurelya's?

Big reason is probably cause Shurelya's costs 1450 to upgrade and Randuin's costs 2250.
Shurelia's also gives you better bonuses for a support in general-- triple the cooldown reduction is big. And more hp is often more useful than more armor for a support (realize that most of randuin's bonus hp is already had from the heart of gold so you don't gain much there) since they're not going to as often be in a position where they're in danger of death from anything but burst-- meaning it's usually AP that's going to be the danger more than AD.
Randuin's also requires you to be in the thick of it to use its active whereas Shurelya's you can use from back away from the fray where a support will typically big.
So yeah lots of reasons basically

Breaking it down by stats, what you gain from Randuins: 100 hp 75 armor 25 hp/5 regen (not terribly useful cause you already have philostone) 5% CDR Slow Nearby Enemies Active
What you gain from Shurelya's: 330 hp 12 hp/5 regen 7 mp/5 regen 15% CDR Movespeed Active
So Randuin's gets crummier regens, 230 less hp, -10% cdr, and is 800 gold more expensive. The active is potentially stronger but Shurelya's is functionally going to be useful more often. Unless you're against a heavy AD team and really need the armor there's pretty much no reason to use Randuin's, even if you think you can use the active effectively without getting yourself killed. Even used optimally the active isn't that much better.

Win ~ Gangplank ~ 1-2-8 (4.50) [+13] 1813 [45] Just a good example of staying on top of the important buffs. Dragons and enemy blues were contested early and then we had them when they came back up.
Win ~ Gangplank ~ 4-0-10 (infinity) [+13] 1826 [34] Every one on our team did good. Almost everyone on the other team did bad. A very rare case.
Loss ~ Sona ~ 0-5-1 (0.20) [-12] 1814 [45] meh. Don't like having to support.
Win ~ Kayle ~ 0-3-11 (3.67) [+13] 1827 [45] But with ^that^ said, supporting with Kayle can be very fun. I love what she can bring to a game. I especially like watching vayne's try and farm normally when they are taking Kayle nukes every time they walk up to CS. Soraka was hard pressed to keep their HPs up.
Also, don't under estimate the importance of that move buff.
Being able to properly engage and disengage is a HUGE part of team fighting. Sometimes things go poorly and you really need to escape without getting aced so that the enemy doesn't get Free Buffs along with Turrets.
The thing I've noticed the higher I get in Elo is that at low elo every team fight is an ace one way or the other. Even when they're losing teams sit around and fight out to the last man. So not only go they get Aced and feed the enemy, the members of the living team can take buffs and turrets without fear.
Shury's also does a good job of babysitting your carry which becomes your sole purpose. Did your team engage and forget to protect the carry? Press Shury and watch your carry escape.
Is the enemy team trying to escape your Carry with low health? Press Shury's and turn everyone into Vayne.
It's an amazing item that I grab on all supports.

I say this because I saw a note on Twitch's page (why twitch) of the wiki where you can activate stealth, hit zhonya's, and then have guaranteed stealth afterwards, so this could totally work with Eve and if I run a regrowth pendant on her I shouldn't need sustain too badly since I can pretty much be immune to poke if I really want to. I could also get some of those spell vamp quints and start with 9% spellvamp, meaning that each rank 1 ravage heals for 3, so basically in 10 seconds I can heal ~30 health which is the equivalent of having a regrowth pendant. The problem would be the inevitable pushing to come from that so regrowth into philo is probably the better option, and Eve is still fun even though they completely removed her stun.
I'm also tempted to try to run her as a tanky DPS because she has really good base stats. Her base stats are basically on par with Nocturne (barring Noc's slightly better HP5 and base AD, but Eve gets more AD per level, though only slightly). This basically would make Hate Spike a completely useless ability, but actually functions well with her slow post-stealth, and her ultimate completents AD well with the attack speed.
Okay I just feel like playing Eve again :(

Zilean Mid Rammus Jungle Janna Support Vayne Carry.
Rammus initiated so that they couldn't just kite Nasus. I sped Nasus up so he could reach squishies. Janna would shield him to further the madness. He bought Guardian Angel and I would Ult him just for funsies.
Like, 3/5 lanes fed, but Nasus was so damn farmed that it didn't matter. He pretty much solo'd their Nexus was 4 people on him and my Ultimate brought him back for huge laughs.
