What is your definition of flaming?

If I call someone a terf, using your example, because Im implying something nefarious about them. How is that not insulting them? Them being their character?

If someone does not claim to be a terf or chud, or whatever else. People insisting they are is an attempt to insult their character.

Its why you cant call someone a loser or a jackass. Youre making an insult to their character.

A better example is nerd. Some people claim that title. It doesnt mean you can just call someone a nerd without it being flaming.

The intent it is to imply something negative.

You can say your logic is something a chud would do because that attacks the argument. But calling someone a chud directly easily falls under flaming to me.
