I figured out the direction I was supposed to be headed via party talk, which was cool. Zoomed to Costa Valor. Rode west. Made it through the valley to the Mini-Medal academy. I stopped in there since I had multiple quests involving the place. I cashed in the medals for a few rewards. I'm up to 37 or so.

They're so about mini-medals it's odd. There's a statue in the front garden of a girl picking up a mini-medal.

Found another pastword.

Read all the books in the library (again, apparently). It's funny I don't recall being in this place at all. I do vaguely recall the name of the region it's in, but none of the scenery rings a bell.

The head lady called me the riffiest raffiest. I need to dress better to impress her, apparently.

Real talk: what happened is landlord said gotta clear all furniture from the fireplace for chimney cleaning so I did then they delayed the cleaning a bunch and basically my TV was not set up for a while. Any day now I'll move it again and get back to it.

I made a bank deposit and used the bed in Tickington. Warped back to 3D world and saved at the statue at the nearby campsite.

Once I booted up at the summit campsite and realized I could zoom to that location, I zoomed back to Angri-La and completed the Boreal serpent quest. Reward seemed worthless

We entered the void, met Grand Master Pang, and retrieved Rab after quadraslashing his rump repeatedly

But not before Mordegon showed up and creeped out the party

And just to clarify we specifically dreamed about Grand Master Pang's face after that...unsurprising I guess?

So basically Rab spent time in dead world not actually being dead but training under the original master of Angri-La, what now

Well at least we showed up right when he finished learning the super secret technique

So this whole pang lai trip is gonna be us escorting the High Lama huh

I used Rectification for the first time to start fresh on Hendrik's skill points. Maxed out shield then went into regular swords.

The Boreal Serpent enemy "crashing down from above" is one of the funnier animations I've seen. It just straight belly flops out of the sky.

Angri-La and the High Lama. Really?

When the dudes surround you and start chanting and dancing, and Hendrik says "these movements must be intended to confound us" I was loling. Reminded me of "what is this ominous light which threatens to engulf us?"

Also funny how based on the attire pictured above, the High Lama perceived that Hendrik was obviously a knight of Heliodor but Daniel definitely wasn't a military man.

I've successfully ridden lots of mountable monsters.

(When I said I got halfway up the mountain I guess what I meant was I got to the entrance of the base of the mountain oops)

Jasper in the throne room being all darkness infused and whatnot. Not the biggest plot twist ever.

Jasper turning into a demon beast after giving his dramatic "woe is me" spiel. Predictable.

Jasper peacing out and leaving us to battle generic dark magic user skeleton. Kinda disappointing.

Cleaned up without any trouble. I cast one heal after the boss pepped up, cloned himself, and used a pep power all at once without me being able to react.

Went back to the Last Bastion. Was a bit weird how the game tells you "something is amiss here" but it turns out to just be everyone randomly decided to hide...? Fortunately the sun comes out at the exact moment you walk into town so everyone comes out in full on parade mode. Singing praises and whatnot.

Now we're off to mount pang lai but of course I go in every other direction possible first. I made my way down to the port town to learn the head honcho there was injured doing something really noble and I should come back later. Spent a little time at the casino filling up the slot machines then left.

Made it halfway up the mountain. Holy cow there was one plant enemy that crit me three times in a row and I was genuinely concerned for a second that I might lose to some random normal enemies. Pulled through but geez.

Hendrik officially in the party, neat I guess. I put some points into shields for him just for the novelty because I'm already super offensive with most the rest of my party.

I was thinking about commenting that I'm getting some real Harry Potter vibes from this castle scene, what with the flashback to Hendrik and Jasper as kids sneaking around the place in the middle of the night and whatnot.

Then I opened a chest that taught me how to make sorcerer's stones. >_>

Oh yeah, was mildly creepy how King Carnelian looked identical in the flashback compared to now even though it seems to have been...well, Jade's entire lifespan, in the past.

apparently "all the magical pathways" got messed up so I can't Zoom to places until I visit them again (I guess visiting a place repairs the "magical pathway"??)

I enjoyed farming the new and improved red-eye enemies.

Got a real Adult Link Hyrule vibe going on around here.

Tried to not agree to cooperate with Hendrik but they made me...sigh.

Freed all the soldiers who were getting their butts whooped during the battle.

The wristorative is an awesome item...I didn't equip it at first, but then I noticed a lot of enemies were doing 10-20 damage to me with basic attacks thus healing 10hp per turn as a passive is actually hella effective

Bought an upgrade at 2h sword OH YEAH I unlocked Gigasmash which looks pretty sweet

Got an achievement for 700 battles won and also for defeating the black dragon in the sewers beneath Heliodor. Was kinda underwhelming.

Honestly did not expect to see Gemma and Amber when I got back to Cobblestone so that was a pleasant surprise. I'm still wearing Gemma's Charm because ya know, I just gotta
