It makes perfect sense to make TB1 and TB2 count beyond the top pick. Say one person tied for 4th had picked Seahawks/Ravens, while another had Bucs/Titans. Why should the person who whiffed so badly on TB1 that the team they picked lost advance over someone whose guess wasn't all that far off? The entire point of having tiebreakers is to break ties, so why would you make them work as ineffectively as possible? The more robust your tiebreakers are at breaking ties, the better. Fortunately, it didn't end up mattering this time, so the whole argument is moot, but basing the tiebreaker on absolute closeness is far more interesting and strategic than having the answer effectively be a shot in the dark. --- thelefty for analysis crew 2008 imo -transience I have a third degree burn in flame-o-nomics -Sir Chris |
