I think FG instead of TD there will end up being the difference. Their defense can't get a stop.

Of all my eliminations, that's gotta be my most excruciating one.

The Browns had so many chances to cement 13+

If the Browns didn't get 13+ we knew all 4 people who were going to advance

I always get TB2s but not TB1s.

Emerald had the Browns, 3 people had NO for TB1.

Okay, so...after all that, turns out the saints DID get the biggest win at 12.

https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/158285888399343617/798006191073656852/unknown.png

So I took the first spot outright for going 5-1
Camden got 8th outright for going 3-3
The rest went 4-2, so it goes to TB1.
Swifty, foxhead, DP, and Lefty all had saints, but there's only 3 more spots for advancement, so go to TB2.
Foxhead and DP got that right as well, so the final spot goes to TB3 between lefty and swifty
Juju had hte most rec yards at 157, so lefty is closer and therefore takes the final spot!

2. DP
2. Foxhead
4. Lefty

I was right from the start. Who actually won each game was almost entirely irrelevant ~

That what a lot of fun. I like Tiebrakers that you can follow easily instead of something random like total number of yard or total point score in all games

I'm glad to hear it was such a fun tb for you, but cause of that concern from earlier I have been considering whether to do something like that again. I might try and find a better way to word it or move down the TB ladder, such as maybe making it out like the complaint originally suggested, where it would be expressed that if not enough people got the TB, it would move to the next best team to fulfill the condition or something.

As an unbiased observer I thought the tiebreakers were fine. Counting the second closest answer makes no sense for TB1 imo

For example, say there were two people tied for 4th. One had Saints/Titans and the other had Bucs/Ravens, and the Browns ended up winning by the most. It would be pretty lousy if the one who got TB2 right got eliminated because no one happened to choose the Browns

Since there are two more tiebreakers there's no need to count closest answer for TB1, just move on to the next one. If you had that type of question for all 3 it would be bad but since TB3 is there as a safety net there's no issue

Having two tiebreakers that are so easily rendered meaningless is practically begging for an unbreakable tie to happen - all you need are two equally close picks for TB3 and you're suddenly in a position with no real out other than just letting multiple people advance.

It makes perfect sense to make TB1 and TB2 count beyond the top pick. Say one person tied for 4th had picked Seahawks/Ravens, while another had Bucs/Titans. Why should the person who whiffed so badly on TB1 that the team they picked lost advance over someone whose guess wasn't all that far off?

The entire point of having tiebreakers is to break ties, so why would you make them work as ineffectively as possible? The more robust your tiebreakers are at breaking ties, the better. Fortunately, it didn't end up mattering this time, so the whole argument is moot, but basing the tiebreaker on absolute closeness is far more interesting and strategic than having the answer effectively be a shot in the dark.

i definitely agree with lefty on this. especially in this case since TB1 is the closest tiebreaker to an actual pick'em, where only the final score matters and no other details.
