It also controls terribly, wasn't this game as recent as 2017? Even KH2's skateboard handled tons better... The Aldina Plains are probably the most egregious example of "huge open field" criticism and the fact that you can't traverse it quickly is annoying, especially for backtracking. I guess I'd have to keep wasting denore bottles and inoph bottles but I also want to battle enemies, I just don't want to spend a few minutes watching velvet trudge through a large mostly empty area just to get to the next battle. I really hope they kept this in mind when making Tales of Arise. Berseria has reawakened my interest in the Tales series for the first time in a while, so I hope Arise is to Tales what Breath of the Wild was to Zelda. --- |

I mean... while it's easy to take potshots at Marie since she is indeed garbage, it's more than just her inclusion in the game and overtaking the plot later on. It's about certain changes the game had. I usually don't agree with people saying a game drags but the extra month was actually more tiresome than it was worth, and it was the first time I felt the game was a slog and dragging. Plus (and this is not specific to Golden) it reminded me that I actually disliked where vanilla P4's story went and how the scooby doo murder mystery plot ended up being super disappointing with the whole I could complain about Chie's voice change, but I actually don't mind either one. The Scooby gang feel and dynamic between the characters was the highlight of 4, and plus it gave us hiimdaisy's comic so it will always be a well loved entry. I mean it's still Persona, so I still like it, but out of the 3 modern ones I have to say I like it least. With Persona 3, even after replaying it, I still liked it barring some complaints here and there, but I don't think I could replay 4 again. Soundtrack is still amazing. I prefer vanilla though for the most part. --- |

I'm still playing this game but it actually makes me mildly curious about the ps3 Tales game and if they were anywhere near as good as this one, to potentially try out. But I'm worried this game being so much better will ruin any enjoyment of previous installments. As for Tales of Arise, I was looking forward to it but after skimming some of the images and trailers I'm a bit worried. Still cautiously optimistic it might be good. Heck I'm fine so far with Berseria minus a few gameplay gripes that I've been listing throughout the topic. If they just fixed those and further added quality of life improvements, it would be all I'd need out of Tales . Oh and of course, maintaining such great characters. I'm worried the characters won't be nearly as great as Berseria, because that's a pretty deciding factor. --- |

I'd take the original P5 story with the Royal gameplay improvements. Of the 3 games I'd say I liked P3 FES, the P5 Royal, then P4. Used to like vanilla P4 more than 3 but then Golden really soured me on the entire game and made me retroactively dislike a lot of it. 3 was the most original with introducing social links and battles, and while the other 2 improved on the gameplay more, especially 5, 3 still had the best story. 4 started off great with the scooby doo murder mystery aspect and general feel, but drops the ball hard. 5 felt like a mix of 3 and 4 (in both story and gameplay aspects) --- |

| saspa 07/19/21 4:05:51 AM #44 | Yeah watching without Pearce is like "huh, this show is weirdly better I wonder why- oh" and watching without Troy is like "wow, this show is much worse" Heh just kiddin I actually like Pearce though, at least in the first 2ish seasons, regardless of the Harmon drama on set. I disliked season 5, which tried way too hard to overcorrect the downgrade of season 4 while being smug about it, but I liked season 6. Not so much at the time, but over the years I've weirdly found 6 to be good, with its overly meta weirdness. Plus, Paget Brewster in season 6 was a surprisingly great cast, really loved her. And they even had mutha effin Keith David, the voice of Goliath! That makes season 6 amazing. --- |

Both trying to subvert the "superhero trying to balance social life and keeping identity secret" yet also play it straight. It seemed like they wanted to have their cake and eat it too. When I saw how old the comic was, I realized it made sense why so much of it was predictable; when it came out it must have been pretty original but since then so many shows and movies have copied the formula. Overall I enjoyed it, but based on pictures posted there's so much material to cover one can't wait to see it all. But seriously Robot is a creep, worse than even "generic asshole" Rex, and there's no justification for anything he did, like jfc. Them handwaving it away is worse, with the only acceptable explanation is that the bigger threat of Omniman overshadows it (which was really only widely known in the last episode) That last scene with Omniman flying away in space... that actually hit pretty hard. Still I do hope they do his arc better than just Vegeta-esque redemption when he brutally murdered so many people --- |

I just can't seem to get into it. Prince of persia time mechanic? I like it in sands of time. Platforming? I like it in super mario bros. But in this game I just can't make it through. It was my first of those "indie" games and it made me realize I definitely wasn't a fan of them at all. --- |

It's such a weird arbitrary number for supposed difficulty management, considering there's already an easy mode option... Does anyone have a preferred set of artes for Velvet? I like to use harsh rebuttal a lot, I've almost mastered it. I want to level up the others but they're just not as good as that one, although gouging spin has proven to be good too. But the others... which ones should I blend in with harsh rebuttal? I also use heaven claw and hell claw a lot, so which artes tie in well with hell claw would be good too so that I can master those. --- |

I hate that I have to do it manually though and the AI is so dumb they'd rather die than use their Full BG to tag in another party member in the reserve.
