I like Kawakami and Takemi though. Haru's occasional bouts of suppressed rage are also adorable.

Royal and Strikers shake up the god killing formula a bit

Royal: A bunch of teenagers beat up a depressed psychologist who is trying to become a god.

Strikers: A bunch of teenagers, an adult, and an AI beat up an AI who just recently became a god.

When I beat Persona 4, the next day I went and bought a used Vita and bought Golden. Beat it all over again.

The series is literal crack.

Yeah I enjoyed it overall. Fun game, although I didn't like the Royal sections, the original ending was much better after I youtubed it. I'd take the original P5 story with the Royal gameplay improvements.

Of the 3 games I'd say I liked P3 FES, the P5 Royal, then P4. Used to like vanilla P4 more than 3 but then Golden really soured me on the entire game and made me retroactively dislike a lot of it.

3 was the most original with introducing social links and battles, and while the other 2 improved on the gameplay more, especially 5, 3 still had the best story. 4 started off great with the scooby doo murder mystery aspect and general feel, but drops the ball hard. 5 felt like a mix of 3 and 4 (in both story and gameplay aspects)

I mean... while it's easy to take potshots at Marie since she is indeed garbage, it's more than just her inclusion in the game and overtaking the plot later on. It's about certain changes the game had. I usually don't agree with people saying a game drags but the extra month was actually more tiresome than it was worth, and it was the first time I felt the game was a slog and dragging.

Plus (and this is not specific to Golden) it reminded me that I actually disliked where vanilla P4's story went and how the scooby doo murder mystery plot ended up being super disappointing with the whole gas station attendant and whatnot.

I could complain about Chie's voice change, but I actually don't mind either one.

The Scooby gang feel and dynamic between the characters was the highlight of 4, and plus it gave us hiimdaisy's comic so it will always be a well loved entry. I mean it's still Persona, so I still like it, but out of the 3 modern ones I have to say I like it least. With Persona 3, even after replaying it, I still liked it barring some complaints here and there, but I don't think I could replay 4 again.

Soundtrack is still amazing. I prefer vanilla though for the most part.

I just dont get the Marie hate. When I played I didnt really care one way or the other for her other than her poetry is terrible and that I love her VA. Then I watched the P4G anime and it made me like her a lot for the most part.

Kinda off topic but any guesses if Strikers will have a Royal version of its own? I wanna play it since I loved P5 but I keep holding off to see if theres gonna be another edition. Especially now with the series anniversary around now or coming or whatever.

I personally doubt it but supposedly Atlus has 7 persona projects theyre currently working on. Maybe this would be one of them and theyd announce it during their big 25th anniversary presentation in September

It's kinda like the Royal stuff is a story from a different game glued onto the original's story. The story that the Royal content tells is very good, it just belongs in a different game.

I did not like Royal's ending or the ending song change. Kasumi's appearance was just awkwardly handled. Still don't see what some others see in it.

Persona 5 Royal needs to come to PC so I can play 'Persona 5' for the 3rd time and then finally place Strikers. I refuse to play Strikers before i play Persona 5 Royal again.
