What I really liked about The Gifted (underrated show no one watched that had potential) is that part of the premise was The X-Men were gone because of some inter dimensional, cataclysmic thing or whatever, so it was up to those other mutants to pick up the slack. It simultaneously answers the question of "why doesn't the strongest hero fly in and save everything" while also giving the viewer hope that they might see the A-list heroes if the show goes on further. --- |

But ok here goes: I also want to throw my hat in the "best Xmen movie after X2" pile because this movie was great, especially when we weren't expecting much after nearly a decade of shit. Remember what it was like back then, they were initially going with a "Magneto: Origins" idea which they scrapped after you know which movie. Then we found out they were scraping the bottom of the barrel X-men (which in the past decade seems like the best idea you could go for rather than automatically going for the big names and failing in delivering) Yet despite that we got a great yet flawed movie. The relationship and dynamic between young Charles and Eric was perfect, the two actors destined for great roles (but they definitely, definitely rushed the separation, it should have happened in a different movie; their relationship always implied that the friendship was built over years rather than the span of a few months) J-law... the less said the better, she was the worst part of the movie and yet they doubled down on her for some inexplicable reason for the disappointing dofp sequel ruined by her entire character and the crappy apocalypse sequel after that. And yeah the black guy dying first was just hilariously stupid. I mean yeah I get it, they needed to stay true to the racist era of that time and how the black guy always dies first, and I know they wanted to show how strong the main villain was in first class and how terrifying he was. But you know what they could have done to save this scene? It's one tiny little thing: have an after credits scene where you see the black guy mutant slowly reassemble and return back to life. To show that his "darwinian mutation" thing is the real shit. It doesn't take away from the villain being threatening and it shows that the darwin guy's power is the real thing. Kevin Bacon doesn't get talked about often as a great xmen villain. One I felt was a great opposite foil to Brian Cox's villain in X-2. --- |

In 3 and 4 it was the standard 99 save files introduced since gen memory cards. It's funny cause it's the kind of game where if you screw up you definitely would prefer going to a save from 10 days ago/10 files ago rather than lose something that you won't get unless you replay the game which you have no intention of doing. --- |
