which is pretty adorable. All for $20 so that's nice I suppose.

Excited to play it soon but sidenote, I had no idea they kept making god of war games after 3. Ghost of sparta? Ascension? What even is that. Just confirming that I don't need to play those if I already played 1-3 a decade ago.

Likewise, a friend really likes the show and keeps insisting I watch it. Seen a few clips and it kinda reminds me of Boardwalk Empire or just general "prohibition era" type shows, of which I've seen plenty of movies about so not sure it does anything new or interesting enough to hold my attention.

It's a real shame s-creek isn't on netflix outside US, I keep hearing good things about it.

As for shows that weren't any good when I tried watching, I'd say American gods. Just... unbearable to watch. Not at all what I was imagining or hoping it would be.

I honestly think infinite doesn't get enough hate for being a terrible game. Not just a disappointing one, but rather a straight up terrible one. I'm not even that invested in the bioshock series and even I felt disappointment as I was playing this game, realizing that it was literally just a shooter.

I remember that one 2011 trailer, E3 or otherwise, that made the game look unbelievably fantastical, with the girl having transdimensional powers woven into the story/gameplay, and the bird was actually a boss or something, not just a freaking cutscene setpiece.

I'm the avatar! You gotta deal with it!

I fricking love this line, it's almost like they knew everyone would hate her, and they weren't even planning the 4 seasons.

Hating korra is whatever, but the whole weird focus on angsty teen love triangle romance is what really brought down korra because it lasted like 2 seasons before they finally dropped it and by then the damage was done.

Precious running time that could have been spent actually developing the characters during the show's crucial first 2 seasons was lost and even when they haphazardly tried to write development for the characters later on eg in season 4 Asami reconnecting with her father to repair their relationship it was almost too late because most fans made up their minds about Korra's characters being uninteresting.

And honestly, I'm glad other people felt like the jump to almost modern day was way too sudden to happen over a period of only 70 years. They went from pre-industrialization period where people were still farming by hand to straight up 1930s NYC style over a jarringly short period of time and it took me aback the first time I saw it. I actually hated republic city because of it when I started the show. And it was also the reason why I liked season 3 because it immediately begins with them going all over the world and you finally see new locales.

Huh I didn't know Wayne's World originated as an SNL gimmick thing. Snl has never been funny based on what I've seen of it. A show about making Snl (30 Rock) is funnier than it.

Anyway I saw the first movie on tv decades back and it was okay, I liked it. I mean, it's much better than the garbage parody movies that popped up in the 2000s

It really is an amazing end to the trilogy. If you haven't played them, they did release two spin-off games after the series ended called Ace Attorney Investigations with the rival Edgeworth, but we only got the first one (which was okay) although the second one has easily the greatest fan translation project in history. I couldn't even tell while playing it that this wasn't an official release, that's how good it was.

I was watching the first season of Boston Legal a year or two ago, and Jim O'Heir (Jerry/Garry/Larry) was in an episode as a mall Santa who got fired for being a crossdresser. It's one of the most humanizing episodes of the first season, and it might be one of my favorite episodes period - I'm watching season 3 on a streaming app, and I'm starting to get pretty grossed out with how the show treats women.

It's a pretty sympathetic portrayal of a gay person for 2004, and it even goes out of its way to mention that a majority of crossdressers are actually straight. It's an excellent performance by Jim O'Heir.

That's quite a coincidence, I also rewatched Boston Legal for the first time 2 years ago, even got all 5 seasons, even watched the last season of the practice since that's when denny and alan shore first showed up. Good show.

I think the actual gross thing is how the show in later seasons started to have a weird... fetish with incest and old gross stuff, I can't remember what it was, I do remember making a topic complaining about it here.
