It's been a long time since I've played a jrpg with the whole "the church/religion institution is evil!" trope, good times. 90s Games of that type (hell even 2000s games like FF10 and Symphonia) are literally decades old... I'm loving the fact that dungeons so far are like 3 short screens, and then the boss battle of that dungeon. Nice and quick before the next story segment and town --- |

I was suckered at first by the idea of "photo realistic graphics that look almost real" and that kinda ridiculousness, but a lesson I learned after playing the garbage GTA 4 is that I just want a game to be fun. It's perfectly acceptable to try to make your game have "a good story" and be all deep and meaningful and that BS, but if it gets in the way of fun, then instant hard pass. --- |

| saspa 01/27/21 6:09:57 AM #11 | I actually like the first one the most. Bloom Omen had more of a... castlevania, rpg-ish feel to it, like symphony of the night. With Kain you could turn into a bat, a wolf, mist... traversing the world was a lot more fun (yes, a big reason because nosgoth wasn't ruined yet) I love Raziel, he's one of my favorite characters in gaming, but Soul Reaver 1 wasn't as fun as Blood Omen. It was more of an action adventure game where the puzzles where that gen 5 tedious block pushing variety of puzzles. Soul Reaver 2 was better in terms of graphics and puzzles compared to 1. Never bothered playing the last 2, I just youtubed the cutscenes since by that point the fantastic VA is really all I looked forward to in the series. Reminds me how sad I was when tony jay passed away, whose work I knew before legacy of kain. Since then rene auberjonois has passed away as well, so there really will never be another kain game. --- |

I perused some cutscenes and the voice acting is rather rubbish and the protagonist super annoying, which is to be expected since 1 and 2 weren't great in that regard but still unfortunate. Just wanted to go through any games I missed during the ps4 era. --- |

Don't think there's a single character I disliked, not even the janitor I've noticed a common trend where people never find the female characters funny. Similarly, I've noticed that writers tend to make female characters clumsy and prone to slapstick humor, if they're not the "mother" type character who reprimands the others for antics. But humor is subjective, and I've always found Elliot and all the rest funny. One of my favorite things about Scrubs is the dynamic of the relationships between the characters, I can't think of a single show that does it better. It's not about one character being funny, they all work off each other spectacularly. --- |

As long as everyone has at least 1 BP it doesn't matter because they'll be free anyway, so it doesn't matter who gets 9 first right, they can just open the door and have everyone bumrush the exit? --- |
