I would have been fine if the game just went with the "meteors destroyed eternia" route as a natural disaster, not this nonsense about trees and some goddess dreaming the world adol and company are in. It's a weird late game and hell late series addition to the franchise

Not gonna lie I'm kinda hyped.

Still haven't played odyssey or even bought Valhalla (debating if I should buy a ps5 for it or just play it on my ps4) But origins was one of my most enjoyable experiences ever.

Seeing "choose your character" and dialogue choices in odyssey kinda worried me though, a big part of why I loved origins was because of Bayek, one of the greatest protagonists of all time so playing as a generic "choose your character" with crappy wrpg-style dialogue choices worries me

Its a little unfair, because the CW got to do so much more with both Supergirl and Green Arrow, but the CW versions by miles.

But really, having a whole show revolving around a character means the character is going to be better than being featured as a supporting character for a little bit for someone else.

I get ambition of movies like godzilla king of monsters that have a ton of cgi and that they have a need to reduce cost by having fight scenes at night with a lot of heavy rain and fog, but it's not the 2000s anymore, surely technology has gotten better...

Then again Jurassic Park still had better looking dinosaurs than Jurassic World so maybe time isn't a factor at all for the improvement of cg technology

Yeah both. Vita has no games besides at best p4g, but it's a great ps1 player and psp player. I stopped using my psp for fear of wear and tear and just exclusively use my Vita to play digital psp games. Analog sticks are a godsend after the terrible analog nub of psp

Such a fantastic movie. 1989's The Little Mermaid is considered the start of the Disney Renaissance, but really this 1988 movie is when Disney became great again and paved the way for the rest of the amazing Renaissance movies

After going to Ys boards I'm glad I'm not the only one who's a teensy bit tired of the party system and slash/strike/pierce mechanic. I miss playing as just Adol. I was fine with it in Ys 7 which was a great game and even Ys 4, but Ys 8's party members were kinda crap and Ys 9 doesn't look much better even if they bring back Dogi.

If they go back to having us play as solo Adol with the gameplay switching style they introduced in Ys 8's past Dana segment, it would be perfect. I can't overstate how much I would have enjoyed an entire game in Dana's style.

Surprised others like nsmb ds. I liked it because it's easy and a was a fun time killer back in the DS days.

I remember being hesitant about nsmb switch because it was challenging and I just wanted something easy, but I sucked it up and ended up having a lot of fun.

Then I tried new super Luigi and it was even harder lol, and I thought I'm definitely not playing this one. But then I did, and still am, and I'm having a blast.

My strategy is to beat the game as quickly as possible so I can unlock the save feature, which makes things easier when you can reset.

Oh I didn't know they released so many, I kinda skipped Nintendo for 10 years until I bought the switch so this was my first after the DS. It's nice that they ported these games because they're fresh experiences for me and helps to add to my sparse switch library

Meanwhile, whenever I'm watching old clips from 90s movies and pre 90s movies, even the scenes shot at night are brightly lit. What a difference that makes

Every show is completely dark. Every HBO show, of course. Almost every netflix show. Even some mcu shows are like that. Agents of shield started to become like that especially in season 5 with the reduced budget. People gave money to the new batman movie despite it being absurdly dim

It's annoying to look forward to a new show and besides the plot or character problems, you've got unnecessary technical problems like that to deal with

Fuck sakes, why are audiences continually giving money to movies and tv shows that film in such dimly lit and poorly lit sets that even when you're watching something with highest brightness in a pitch black room, you can still barely see anything.

I still prefer HG/SS, but it's definitely the best of the recent crop. Once they moved to the French region(the one with fairy types), I feel like the games have gone downhill.

That's surprising. I don't play pokemon but the fairy type seems like the best addition to the franchise in decades, not since dark has there finally been balance brought to the type matching with dragon being so broken before and poison being so useless.

I really loved the idea of being on an island and it having dinosaurs, felt like journey to the center of the earth or something.

I enjoyed gathering the other shipwreck survivors and seeing the village grow, it was by far the most fun Ys and that's not even getting into the quality of life improvements that made me want to kiss the developers with gratitude.

My topic purged but I was literally just talking about this game. I beat it for the first time and making my way through New Super Luigi which I'm also enjoying.

Definitely fun, I was not planning on enjoying a 2d platformer and it won me over.

Worse, I was not attracted to sophie marceau at the time, and thought denise was hotter. Now it's the exact opposite, sophie is way more beautiful

That's literally the opposite of being the worst. How are you going to do DLC for an RPG, unless they literally cut up part of the game to serve as DLC like a western developer would. You don't have to buy something as useless as costumes so I don't see the issue here...

It is called Earthbound Beginnings on Switch.
The series is called Mother in Japan, and the first game was released on the Famicom. An English translation was made, it was renamed Earthbound and then it got cancelled because the Snes was around the corner.
The sequel, Mother 2, was released on Snes and released in English as Earthbound.
Years later, a cartridge containing the English Nes version was found and dumped. Since it shared the same name as the Snes game, the group dumping it hacked the title screen to Earthbound Zero. The game has been known as that since then, even if the name got changed for the Switch release.

Oh I actually played a bit of a game called mother that a friend gave me. It felt like a precursor to earthbound, it was basically earthbound but in black and white and even had a proto Ness lookalike
