The 3 protagonist thing... is an interesting decision. I wonder what spurred that design. I've noticed that sometimes the same mission activates for 2 characters, but I miss part of a cutscene if I choose one character over the other. Makes me want to know what scene I missed if I chose to start the mission as the other character but not enough to replay and find out.

I know I'm 9 years late for all this, but GTA 4 basically killed my love for the series over a decade ago but now I'm running out of games and got it on sale although I'm annoyed that the extra cash and stuff of the version I got is for the online portion crap, not the actual game. Thought I would be able to cheese the game with 1 million dollars from the get-go.

The introduction of powers or special abilities is probably a carryover from 2010's Red dead redemption redeye ability, I like it especially Franklin's ability. A real game changer to basically go full speed in a car but in slow mo, I can win races easily like that.

Here's the thing, I really don't like the new GTA 4 and 5 engine with the weird ragdoll physics and the character not even being able to turn properly without doing a weird 360 loop de loop. Can't fathom why people like it more than San Andreas or even 3's system. I'm getting used to it a bit, helps that there's stuff to do and I don't utterly despise the protagonists like I did 4's whiny "I come to America for a new life I don't want to kill anymore" dude.

Michael doesn't have a special ability? Nothing happens when I click L3+R3. Unless it's a spoiler later on, I only just got Trevor to meet Michael

I checked out some youtube videos and battles have all 6 party members fighting at once? That's insane.

On the one hand it sounds great but I'm worried they make enemies damage sponges to compensate for having your entire party whaling on them. I remember playing a crappy game called white knight chronicles that had high hp damage sponge enemies and never again.

Oh Xenoblade 3 has difficulty settings? I might be more inclined to try it if I can just set it to easy mode and have a stress free playthrough. I also skipped 2 for obvious reasons after having fell in love with 1.

Oh wow lol I'm glad I held off on buying the games on psn classics store. I kept feeling hesitant about starting an old school rpg without modern conveniences like no load times, saving anywhere, maybe even double speed...

If it's just the same thing as the ps1 version but with updated graphics then pass, I don't care about graphics and might as well just get it on the psn store on ps3

Although now I'm wondering if they'll delist the games from psn like certain other scummy companies are doing

Anyway I agree, Beast Wars really is one of the greatest cartoons ever and the animation definitely holds up in terms of charm, there's just a quaintness to it that's great, but it was truly cutting edge at the time. It and Reboot were my childhood.

Hell I was never a fan of Transformers and only caught a couple of episodes here and there, but stayed put to watch Beast Wars from beginning to end. It goes without saying that animals > cars even disregarding the fact that Beast Wars was just more entertaining and better written with better developed characters. Dinobot, rattrap, black arachnia, silverbolt... I owned almost all those toys, even after the transformation in one of the seasons where something or other happened

You know how this show kinda reminiscent of the Matrix and outright copies it sometimes? Yeah they're doing it again and not in a good way. Dolores's plot is literally what happens in Matrix 4 with Neo and I hate that I'm reminded of that, wish I could scrub that movie from my memories

I hated the body horror stuff starting in season 2 it went off the rails with it there like wtf

The premise was always icky with the whole killing robots and screwing robots, but season 4 is taking it too far and gross and just unrealistically yuck

I still can't get over season 3 Dolores picks Caleb as the "savior for humanity" and when he asks why she's like "because you didn't rape me and the women during that army training simulation" and I'm like jesus christ the bar is that low really? Basic human decency is nonexistent?

And another thing. Why does Caleb have stupid comb over hair this season? I was never a fan of the dude but the hair in particular irks me lol

That is to say, good job!!

The first few times I tried the game I was like "screw you game I'm going home" because it was even more difficult than regular nsmb switch, and I didn't think I was that rusty at 2d platformers.

But then I just eased into it and decided "don't go for all the star coins, just get to the exit" and since the levels are shorter than the main game, if you just aim for the exit it gets easier.

Also I was lucky in that I found a secret exit by chance that led me to right before the final world, which helped because my goal was to beat the game and unlock the save mechanic. Once you can save anytime you want, you can save scum as much as you want. The powerups help too, I pretty much always save scum if I'm going to use a super duper flying squirrel to cheese through an entire level.

OK gonna move on to super Mario 3d world now

Honestly the 03 show was basically just the 80s comic, lol. Every major story from the original run was adapted, and even some of the filler issues. (Like the time traveller Renet, or those hillbilly terrorists). Besides having to tone down the violence, it was pretty faithful, and the parts it deviated from were usually an improvement. >_>

The original comic honestly wasnt too edgy outside of issue 1. It was originally a one and done parody/homage of Frank Miller but when they realized people wanted more it quickly found a more "normal" tone lol

So the comic is responsible for shredder being an alien or some weird shit like that?

Xenosaga 2 is pretty much exactly like ff 8, there's only one way to play the weird mechanics of the battle system but once you know that strategy the rest of the game is relatively smooth sailing

You just need to know how to juggle enemies and then attack, bearing in mind that ironically momo is the strongest attacker in the game this time around (well her and kosmos of course)

Also, there's a section of the game where you solo as shion that's a great opportunity opportunity for level grinding which is your one chance in the game to jump up a few levels quickly

It was also the best game since the first one. Action hack and slash is a great direction for the series

3D World is a great Mario game. Crash 4 is a decent Crash game. They're both good but ones better imo

Damn 3d world is... I'm gonna have to get used to this, my depth perception of this fixed camera 3d is a bit wonky. And I'm not getting the timing right for jumps, I literally missed a star and it was so aggravating because I thought I jumped toward it but no.

I really hope that topic was downvoted into oblivion, tipping culture in America is ridiculous and the fact that the entire population of the country has been brainwashed by corporations into thinking it's normal to pass on the payment of wages for servers and/or drivers onto the customer in the form of tips is despicable

There was this one level, called fire bar sprint in the bonus levels that was damn near impossible to beat, let alone get all star coins for. Basically you have to run the entire level without getting hit by those rotating fire bars, and it's the worst kind of level in platformers, because there's no room for mistakes, you have to run at exactly the right time and speed without breaking stride for the entire level. I don't play those difficult platformers for this exact reason, it demands perfection and is just not fun.

I was tempted to use nabbit (who has invincibility) to at least nab the star coins when I finally beat the level, but resisted and forced myself to try to do it with Luigi. Almost didn't think it was possible, no level in the game was that difficult.

I finally decided to try to cheese it as best as I could by loading myself up with star and flying powerups and grabbing a baby Yoshi to use as a sacrifice against the fire, which still took forever to nab that final star coin and win the stage. The level of relief I felt was enormous, no other level bothered me after that (there was only 1 or 2 more anyway)

Man, I haven't seen Black Lagoon in nigh on to 10 years during my anime phase

I remember liking it for what it is, kinda like Hellsing if you go in expecting just some crazy action anime

i'm not saying use them, you don't even have to use them. don't waste time collecting them just to hoard, though!

It's coming into contact with the items organically through exploration and finding rare treasures chests. Same with leveling up, it's not about level grinding it's about leveling up naturally through exploring the world and dungeons etc.

The dialogue choices in AC Odyssey kinda annoy me, are they just flavor text or does it impact anything in a big way?

I'm assuming the game will have "kill person/let them go" type options as well right? What do I choose, does it matter, and is there some hidden karma meter like those gen 7 open world games?

America has the best anything and everything, if you can afford it. That's kind of the important distinction to keep in mind

Absolutely, speaking as someone not typically into comic books, just ones in-universe of the cartoons I watch.

If I recall correctly it was referred to as "the real season 3" by the creator when Disney went ahead and made the third season with the weaker animation and much weaker writing (I still liked it because I like Gargoyles anything)

I always liked the Light version more than the original, but when I found out there was chocolate I thought that was utterly decadent. Then I found out there was a chocolate caramel McVities biscuit and really felt humanity had gone too far.

I'm just excited to have this feeling of accomplishment over having gotten all the star coins especially the harder levels, where even cheating with the super squirrel suit wasn't possible.

In new super luigi he has a higher jump and is a lot more slippery than in the default game, which I was shocked to find out is an actual design feature, I forget what it's called but basically weaker traction when running

I made sure to beat the game first after knowing that beating the game lets you save any time which is definitely needed.

That looks delicious but unfortunately can't eat it.

I read the 2006 Gargoyles comic book series a few years back, did anyone else read them? I remember the artstyle was pretty similar to the show (which is a big reason why I would read any comic book) and that it featured Goliath and Elisa actually kissing and discussing their relationship possibility.

It's actually kind of cool how they deal with it. They are the same being, but different personalities. When Greek demigods and Roman demigods meet up conflict tends to happen. The Romans aren't in the first series but they get involved in the 2nd.

Wait what? So like Percy's dad, Poseidon, suddenly has a different personality when he changes into Neptune? A multiple personality disorder type of thing?

I literally love Keith David just for this, hearing Goliath always soothes me and makes me feel safe. One of my favorite characters of all time

You know, Enchanted is very interesting looking back. Haven't seen it in 15 years but I know that one of the actors was Idina Menzel who would later voice Frozen, so it's cool to see her here when she wanted to be an actress and didn't want to sing when that very thing is what made Frozen and "that" song the biggest Disney thing of the 2010s

Also it was 2007, when Disney was still kinda in their second dark ages. This movie was their attempt to seem hip and cool with them trying to make fun of themselves and going "look at us guys we're so self-aware, fairy tale princess stuff is so silly right?" even though everyone and their mother had already long since made fun of Disney and forgotten about it. Which is even more ironic because them returning to fairy tale princess stuff (Tangled, Frozen) is literally what caused the Disney Revival to happen in the first place

This movie may not have been what Who Framed Roger Rabbit was to Disney at the start of the 90s, but it's still kinda cute. I remember thinking the animation part in the beginning was unironically good, and I would have watched that as a movie.

Man, there are a lot of Disney topics all of a sudden

Didn't know they did more books after the initial series. I actually read the first 5 books, and they were entertaining for young adult literature, even though the greek mythology subject matter can get a bit much for even pg-13 rating unless you really censor it. If anyone has read Darren Shan's Cirque Du Freak series, they're both similar in trying to be the next Harry Potter, and both are actually pretty good young adult fantasy series. At least I thought so 15 to 20 years ago

I was already too old when the first series came out, I'm definitely too old now to read the new books albeit mildly curious.
